If Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin got the job as running mate for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), count her as one of the most surprised.

In an interview just a month ago, she dissed the job, saying it didn’t seem “productive.”

In fact, she said she doesn’t know what the vice president does.

Larry Kudlow of CNBC’s “Kudlow & Co.” asked her about the possibility of becoming McCain's ticket mate.
Palin replied: “As for that VP talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day? I’m used to being very productive and working real hard in an administration. We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans and for the things that we’re trying to accomplish up here for the rest of the U.S., before I can even start addressing that question.”

Her evident distaste for the office would be part of her appeal: It would show McCain is running an anti-Washington, reformist campaign.

But it also points to a huge negative for her: It robs Republicans of their most effective argument against Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) — that he lacks experience.

Before Palin’s election in December 2006 as the state’s first woman governor, she served terms on the city council of Wasilla, Alaska (population 6,700), and two terms as the mayor/manager of Wasilla.

I agree.... how can this lady step up to the the president  if the old man croaks

According to TheCoach, since she's been Governor of Alaska for less than 2 years, she's qualified to run the most powerful nation in the world.

LOL... she's facing IMPEACHMENT in Alaska right now....

Palin currently being investigated for abuse of office

The Associated Press reports, "More recently, she has come under the scrutiny of an investigation by the Republican-controlled legislature into the possibility that she ordered the dismissal of Alaska's public safety commissioner because he would not fire her former brother-in-law as a state trooper."

The commissioner, Walt Monegan, was fired on July 11, because Palin "wanted to take the department in a new direction," according to Bloomberg. "Monegan than alleged that he had been pressured to fire state trooper Mike Wooten, who was married to Palin's sister and was involved in a contentious divorce, according to the Anchorage Daily News."

The Bloomberg story continues, "Palin has denied any wrongdoing. The state Legislature voted on July 28 to hire an independent investigator to probe whether Palin, her family or members of her administration had pressured Monegan to fire Wooten, according to the Daily News."

"Palin hasn't been implicated in the four-year-old federal corruption investigation, which has resulted in convictions of or guilty pleas from three state legislators, Murkowski's former chief of staff and two executives of an oil-services company, as well as the indictment of Senator Ted Stevens," Bloomberg's report concludes.

Last month a Democratic official told the Wall Street Journal that Palin was facing possible impeachment.

"This is a governor who was almost impervious to error," Hollis French, a Democratic state senator told the Journal. "Now she could face impeachment, in a worst-case scenario."

As opposed to someone who's been a Senator for less than 2 years?

They both are weak, experience wise.  Excpet one's running for VP, the other for President.

New Gov. of Alaska...  Five kids.  One just born this year... a special needs child...  Doesn't she have bigger fish to fry?  I'm surprised she would want to be VP.  By any measure, she has a steep learning curve ahead of her.  Is she ready to be President if McCain croaks a month into his presidency?

I don't like his politics, but Romney strikes me as a more qualified choice.  Oh well, I think this helps Obama.

Helps Obama.  Not!

Voters arent that deep.

1. Woman = women votes
2. Looks of Latin descent to me = Latin vote
3. Native Indian husband = Is anyone more native American than that.

Bad politics but McCain is trying to steal the elections.  If you thought Obama was clueless...then she is ahead of the curve by a mile. She is a counter punch to Obama's ethnic side. Doesnt make a difference if she can lead a line of kids to Disneyland.  Have to give McCain an "A" for this one.

Well...see in this election can American's think past the tip of their noses.

By the end of this election I'm claiming my Cuban side of the family.

Compare apples to apples--as opposed to Joe Biden who's been a US Senator for what 30 years.

Zero economic experience... Romney would have helped Mccain bigtime there.

Mccain admits he is weak on the economy.  Many people believed he NEEDED a financial genius, like Romney or Carly Fiorinino of HP onto the ticket.

This woman has no foreign policy experience, and no financial expertise.

Dummy...his best bets were Louisiana Gov or Rice but they wouldnt touch this election.  It just McCain trying to pit them against another brown face.  Why would they bother?  Both too smart for that BS!  I guess she isnt but she does look good.  Grade "A" MILF.

Allow me to distill my post to its essence, so that you can better grasp it's meaning: This is not a political campaign, it's a marketing campaign.

Surprised you missed it since that's what you said in your last post which, sadly, I'm inclined to agree with.

BTW...I do read BlockHead's post because he's my b###h.  Thanks for your time.
