Obviously there are some gays that comprise the audience for bodybuilding shows, but they are hardly the majority. Personally, I think bodybuilding should have it's own idividual meaning to a person. If you're gay and you are attracted to bodybuilders, that's fine. If seeing Pumping Iron made someone want to get bigger and stronger and inspired them, that's also fine. In other words, bodybuilding can be a healthful pursuit that makes you look and feel better and be more attractive to others...if used properly. Others choose to go a competive route and that's fine as well. Personally, when someone has taken it to a level and has ended up having kidney transplants, heart attcks, destroyed their normal hormonal output for life, it is no longer a healthful positive pursuit. When someone ends up becoming a hardcore meth or opiate addict and supports their lifestyle escorting and having sex with people they are repulsed by(and like many recent male/bodybuilder escorts, dies mysteriously.. lonely..broke..lost)the sport has become a negative element. I choose to use the sport for positive things-great physique, health, discipline, and I would advise others to choose that path.
