It's been shown to be of significant benefit to cancer patients because when they're undergoing radiation or chemo they usually have a hard time getting enough nutrition / protein due to nausea and lack of appetite. Obviously, it's easy to digest too. Cancer patients also have severely compromised immune systems and the whey protein has the needed amino acids to help improve that. Addtionally, whey protein has been shown (animal and in vitro studies) to inhibit the growth of several types of cancerous tumors.
