when you say athlete i think of all round strength endurance athleticism and endurance. Outside of a football pitch maradona couldnt do much.

Sadly a college decatalete is 10 times the all round athlete maradona is, however maradona is 100times the footballer he could ever be

To compare Maradona to Pele is pure ignorance at is best. Pele won 3 World cups, over 1000 goals. Considerate by the vast majority of experts the best soccer player that ever lived and one of the Greatest Genius of sports. Maradona was Great but it is about 20 players at his level in history. Pele is on his on league.

Pele was more successful and had more longevity, Maradona was just as good. Just blew up and self destructed

Pele didn't win three world cups on his own. He didn't carry the team like Maradona did. Without Pele Brazil was still the best team. Without Maradona Argentina wasn't. And there are certainly not 20 players at his level. That's absurd.

Maradona, disteffano, cruyff, charlton, john charles, puskas, maldini(controversial) best, Platini, shit its hard to think on the spot though i would say maybe 5 more max
