Quite obviously that was not his goal. I agree that his way of doing things wasn't smart.

he knew he didn't have the structure and shape, he had to be sliced and diced beyond belief for him to have a chance

it's a shame none of that worked out but like i said, he just wanted to be as good as he could possibly be
