I don't think he ever weighed over 220, and even at that weight, he said his stamina was compromised. He was stronger definitely but he was much more comfortable at a lighter body weight.I have read that Brzenk hammer curls 150 lbs for reps and he wrist curls godly amounts of weight. He might not be the biggest but just look at the guy's forearm.

I actually think he got as high as 240 at one point, I read it somewhere I think =)

I remember watching Eddie Robinson on espn about 10 years ago, he got his ass whooped. It was funny, cause here he was in a tank top juiced to the gills and get's pulled right off the bat.

Strength plays maybe 40% or so of a match.  Technique with comparable strength will win everytime,  Case in point; Kazmaier did not do well when he entered in New York.  I have personally seen many powerlifters and BB's get destroyed by guys 50+ lbs lighter that don't look like they lift at all.  Coleman is stronger lifting weights than probably any armwrestler but that don't mean shit on a table.  Especially in Johns case cause he has been doing it for now over 20 years and has developed such incredible tendon strength and technique.  Out of 10 matches John would beat Coleman 10 times.  No doubt about it.  There is no lifting Coleman has done to adapt himself to an armwrestling table.  I lifted ALOT of weight and I was still in a sling for days after a tough tournament.  John stays and pulls anyone who wants to after a tournament.  He is a freak on the table.  The guy from Russia is obviously to a freak with incredible strength.  But he looks like he can armwrestle and beat everyone.  John just looks like a normal guy.  Imagine how much money he can win in bar matches.

Because it has alot to do with wrist strenght, hand strenght and tecnique. Raw brute bicep strength does nothing for you if you have a weaker wrist, hand and a crappy tecnique. :)

What is unusual on John is the size of the tendon on the inside of his elbow area.  You can feel how big it is.  Tremendous tendon strength
