i thought the force was based on buddism as they are so alike. read this its uncanny, how they are so similar:

http://buddhistfaith.tripod.com/pureland_sangha/id40.html

i thought castanedas work was based on shaminism ?

Yes, Castaneda became the Toltec master of a certain line of shamans during his work.
I read that Lucas was influenced a lot by Castaneda. It's probably a mixture of different things.

Try reading "Hero with a thousand faces" by Joseph Campbell. It pretty much inspired Lucas. I'm relatively certain Campbell was seriously into Frazier's Golden Bough but that's a hard book to read.

Because the power to bench press 400 pounds is insignificant compared to the power of the force.
The answer is "yes".

Having read some of it I'd say "The Power of Myth" by Campbell is an easier read.

The Golden Bough is a giant series. What I read was really good but it's several books and written in a very dry British, scholarly way.

Coincidentally, I'm in the midst of reading it. I had just finished reading William Goldman's 'Adventures in the Screen Trade'. Before that Robert McKee's 'Story' six times cover to cover and John Truby's 'Anatomy of Story' 3 times.

yes, perhaps Star Wars would of attracted bigger audiences had the characters in the film wore thongs and cowboy hats

Yes he means David Prowse, AKA body of Darth Vader. Obviously not the voice. Dude was the Green Cross code guy in England, and from Bristol, like me. :)

What's this? ??? ;D

Its Prowse/Vader trying to turn Lou to the Dark side. However, his plan goes awry to  his shock and dismay when Lou's anger makes him turn green and hulk out....

I'd rather say they are both trying to loot the other for a few bucks.

Both have the same problem, basically: They are constantly overlooked.

Nobody will ever recognize Prowse because nobody knows his face. Ferrigno will always be the guy that got his ass kicked by Arnold.

Then Vader would force choke him and force throw him into the trash.....
