I love my 2 daughters but i'm extremely tired now after the second one...i had the first at 29 and the second at 39...2 dad's ;D

slut :P :D

Are kids really worth it? Are they worth the sacrafices and cost?

You bet they're worth it.  Are they a pain in the ass much of the time?  Sure.  But like everything in life, it's a trade-off, good times for bad, etc.  In the end, they are a real hoot and you forget the not so great times when you're having a blast with them.

My position. Hence, the question.

It's very difficult to convey the message to people who don't have kids.  Before I had them, I was "meh" on them in general.

Now, though, I know they're the greatest thing in the world.  Totally, totally worth it.

Yes, your bench will go down for some time, but it comes back.

There's definitely an age where people should stop, though. Why someone would want to be hitting soccer games at 50 is beyond me.

Only 3? I thought the all-night wailing goes on for a year or more.

Are kids really worth it? Are they worth the sacrafices and cost? You seem to hear a 50/50 split on them being 'better than life itself' and really major downers. Thoughts?

I have two kids. My daughter just turned 5 Nov 8th, my son is 2 1/2.  If you are ready for kids, and you need to have the commitment to be there for them, it is so worth it.  I love being a father. Absolutely love it.  Reading books to them, playing games, being there for them. Unreal. It is the best feeling in the world when your kids says they love you.

But before we had kids, we traveled around a lot, went out a ton, did a lot of stuff you cant do when the kids are around. Life changes completely.  Some of your friends that dont have kids don't understand it. But again, we didn't have kids until we were in our 30s.

Yes, of course, there are the things I don't like. Changing diapers, waking up in the middle of the night when one calls, getting up really early in the morning, and sometimes, you wish you can just sleep, but going through it all, it is the best.

Agreed.  They eat, sleep, cry, and shit.  Mostly cry.

naw both of our boys started going down at about 6:00-6:30pm. fairly early. We had to let our first cry it out when he got a little older for a few nights, but he adapted pretty quickly other than late night feedings.

Thank god men cannot breat feed!  ;D

Some people think their kids smile at them at that age, but it's just gas.  At 5-6 months, they actually start to do stuff.  Then, it's really cool from that point on.

Only the parents will understand this...

You will love nothing else in life the way you love a child.

Being a dedicated parent, making sure that you offer your children the best life you can, will make you prouder than anything else in life.

Then you're life will suck even though deep down inside you may never admit it.
example after my 1st son i was happy and content my wife wanted 1 more i didn't
i just thought of no sleep, dipears ,money, if it wasn't for her we never would have had my 2nd boy because i was to busy looking at the big picture...

You let your wife bully you in to having another kid?

How persistent are women when they want another child? ???

Kids are great. Irony is... I enjoy them so much more being divorced, LOL!

Let go of your hate, Jake.

That only leads to the Darkside.

Can't you negotiate it out of them?

For instance, if she wants more kids, negotiate for more anal sex.....

Wouldn't that work?   ???

What hate?

Having the kids to myself is just plain more enjoyable. Stating a simple fact isn't reason for analysis, LOL! Most divorced guys, who aren't dealing with any drama, have the same opinion.

Actually, I think most people keep up the drama to preserve their self-esteem/image. They have to make sure things don't get too quiet and you find yourself feel happier without them. :)

Anyone stupid enough to sit around being unhappy or bitter is cheating their children and themselves.

even at their worst, they are worth more than you will ever know. Unfortunately only someone with kids can understand how much your children mean to you

I read a study once that said the majority of people that had kids wished they didnt have kids or wished they had less kids.

That is probably true because most parents suck at being parents...but if you are a committed loving parent I think it must be the most rewarding thing in life.
I love my niece and nephew and cant imagine how great it would be to have my own...Yea the are a lot of work
but all the love that is exchanged is worth it, and having a family when you get older and possible loss your spouse is priceless.

But I do think that all parents should be licensed to have a kid, have to take mandatory classes in child care and child welfare, learn the best techniques to developing their brains and morals, and absolutlely commit to never fighting in front of their kids because that is the number one thing that fucks kids up.

If get their license in being a parent then they get a tax break., if they dont no tax break simple as that....I think it will be good for the country in the long run.

The more of that the better, just as marriage councelling prior to getting married is effective.
