Opening Fingernail Polish Bottle

A secretary in my office asked me to help her open a fingernail polish bottle.  She tried for about a week.  So, she comes to "strongest man in the office" (per her), for help. 

I can't do it.   :-[  Must have spent 30 minutes on it yesterday.  I even tried pliers.  Now it's a personal challenge.  It's me or the bottle.   >:( 

Any suggestions?

Whatever you do, DO NOT put it in the microwave.  I'm not sure why anyone would try it but a gal that used to work at a store I used to go to did this and when she opened the door the bottle exploded and she lost an eye.

Maybe put it in cold or hot water for 15 min, dry it off and try to open?  Maybe dab some polish remover around where the lid screws on....or just get a new bottle!  ...you could secretly replace the old bottle w/the new one and your manhood (at least in appearance) would stay intact. :)

Also, did she try wearing rubber gloves to open it to get a good grip?

Oh I like that one.   :)  That is officially Plan B.   :D

I'm going to take it home and try the cold/hot water then rubber gloves.  Will report my results.  Thanks.   :)

Once you get it open and give it back to her, tell her not to slop all over the rim next time, or take some remover and a tissue to clean it up before capping it. ::)

Put the bottle in a glass of water.  Froze it.  Thawed in warm water.  Rubber gloves.  Bam.  I win.   :)

After all that, it probably would have been quicker, easier and more laughable to just buy a brand new bottle of the crap.
