NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!  he has taken an idea that was already there and marketed it so that the average american would find it interesting and acceptable..he is is still an idiot because now that he is at the top he wants his fighters to sell there lives away..that makes him a smart buisness man BUT a bad person in my opinion.if he keeps going like this he could potential ruin mma as we know it..

I agree with you 100%, that is basically what Dana did. These fighters have more opportunities now than ever before Dana. Even TUF is  a huge opportunity for up and coming guys. Just getting on the show gives you opportunity. You can think he is a bad man, he may be, but he is a very smart business man period. Remember, Dana may ask these guys for some strict contracts, but no one is forcing them to sign them. They can always test the waters elsewhere if they want. Even Randy thought he was too good for the UFC at one point. Regardless the reason, he came back.

Re: Jon Fitch released from UFC, Back in 24 hrs....

Less than 24 hours after the news that welterweight stand-out Jon Fitch had been released by the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the situation has been resolved and Fitch is back with the UFC.

The news was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by members of Zinkin Entertainment, Fitch's management team, who said that the deal was brokered between their executives, Jon Fitch, and UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta on Thursday.

Zinkin executive and American Kickboxing Academy trainer Bob Cook spoke to MMAWeekly.com on Thursday after Fitch was officially invited back to the UFC.

"Jon and I spoke with Lorenzo Fertitta and we managed to put everything back together," Cook told MMAWeekly.com.

Cook also says that everybody from the American Kickboxing Academy, including Fitch, Cain Velasquez, and Josh Koscheck would be signing on to the video game contract that seemingly brought about part of this departure from the UFC.

"Yes, the guys will be part of the video game program and the conversation with Lorenzo, they're comfortable with the situation and everybody's moving forward," stated Cook.

The day started with a conversation between Fitch and UFC president Dana White according to Cook, and eventually UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta stepped into the negotiation as well and things were soon settled.

"I just think that Jon's and Lorenzo's personalities mesh a little better," Cook said of the negotiations.

Fitch first spoke to MMARated.com about his return to the UFC on Thursday afternoon saying, "Communication kind of broke down with Dana (White) so we talked with Lorenzo. (I) just got off the phone with him and we came to an agreement. We're going to move ahead and I'll be back in the UFC."

On Wednesday, Dana White made several inflammatory statements about the American Kickboxing Academy, its fighters, the management and the team at Zinkin Entertainment. Cook says now with the situation resolved, he hopes to speak to White and get back to work.

"I've got a call out to Dana (White) right now. He's doing some interviews right now, but hopefully he'll give me a call back and we'll patch things up."

I'm telling you...Dana is way over his head and is the cause of many of the issues the UFC is having with fighters.  He did great to get them to where they are, but they now need someone more qualified to take over....

Dana is a little harsh at times, but who do you think would be better to run the show other than Dana? Can't really say the Fertitas because they currently are involved and back Dana. Although Dana has some faults, I can't think of anyone better for the job.

All it will take for White to be put in his place is a mass defection of some of his best talent. If  a couple of guys like Anderson Silva and Forest Griffin got together and moved on to M1, Dana would definetly be humbled and at the end of the day it would be better for the sport. At the very least it would give some star power to another federation and force White to treat his athletes better.

More than any other organization, it will be the Vegas economy that ends up humbling Dana. Within a year, unemployment will be in the teens. Station will be hemmoraging money and may end up selling the UFC. The new owners will have no allegiance to Dana.

Station may be hurting, but selling the UFC? source?
How is Dana humbled, he has nothing to do with Station?  Besides, with the economy as bad as it is, UFC is still selling out arenas and setting near record numbers with PPV. Why would they sell. Station can go bankrupt, and it would not effect the UFC. Ever heard of LLC?

It's an opinion. I'm just theorizing what may be coming down the road. Vegas is the epicenter of the worst housing crash since the Great Depression. That town is just beginning to feel the pain. Have you seen what's happened to casino stocks, lately? Most are down 80-90%.

As far as the UFC selling out arenas and doing big ppv #s, give it time. The UFC caters to a primarily working class clientele, who is "Tapped Out."

There are a ton of high caliber execs with the knowledge and experience needed to take the the UFC to the next level by turning it into a true global brand.

You have to realize that whomever gets involved with running an MMA organization has to know the MMA game. Mark Cuban for example, has the brains, but has no clue about MMA as a sport.
