It doesn't look gay, at all.  There's nothing gay about a guy holding tires.  Now, if it was two guys each holding a tire while kissing.......That's gay.

Roll Eyes

I always have a laugh when you guys call pics like this "gay". The dude is holding tires and sitting down in these pics. He doesn't have his cock out with a sign that says "come get it boys"

I always laugh when guys look at pix like the ones below and say ďI donít see anything gay about itĒ because, in effect, what you are really saying is that you are not very bright.  A picture does not have to consist of two guys having sex in order for it to be gay.

Many (most) of the editors, writers, photographers, and stylists (people who set up and manage these photo shoots) are gay. This is not conjecture on my part; several of them are publicly out on gay message boards.  Who do you think they are styling and framing these photos for? Women?  Um, no.  They know who their audience is, and they know the kinds of images that generate publicity and profits.  Bodybuilding is funded by male schmoesómany of them gay, bi, or closeted.

Learning how to weight train is something everyone can legitimately be interested in, but letís be honest, you can learn all there is to know in a couple months (a week or two if you are serious).  Weight training for yourself is also a legitimate undertaking, but spending money to attend show after show, collecting years worth of magazines, and a library of muscle videos crosses into the gay zone.  Iím willing to bet that by the time you have made your way to getbig you already know how to train biceps, abs, legs, chest, etc.  So why would you continue to spend money on this stuff?

If you honestly think ogling heavily muscled men in thongs over and over for years on end (as so many bb fans do) is an interest of heterosexual men you are dim indeed.  As I have said in other posts connecting-the-dots is not something everyone can do.  So be it.

There are plenty of heterosexual men and women who will look at these Wolf pix and espy the gay aesthetic.  (The original Herb Ritts photo that inspired all the Wolf copycat pics is below; and yes, Ritts was a gay photographer).

Another example:  When this pic of Doz was posted a few months ago, TrueGrit smartly observed:

That's by far the most gay Dorian image I've ever seen. The look, the way the sword is placed..that's nearly as gay as Bob in chainmail underwear, blindfolded, and on the cross. Actually, no it isn't, it's nowhere near as Gay as Bob in chainmail.

The duller knives in the drawer chimed in with "I donít see anything gay about it."  Then I pointed out that the pic shows "a long, straight, hard, weapon placed obliquely between his legs.  Do you get it now?  It's a phallic symbol.  Only a .44 Magnum (or a dildo) in place of the sword could be more obvious."  To be explicit: Dorian the muscleman is ready to fuck you now.

These kinds of images are all over bodybuilding (Wolf above looking into the camera with torn jeans and his legs spread).  Good lord! Does this really need to be broken down and explained?  Sigh.  Roll Eyes

>true dat! and he's even in a bent-over postion ready to fuck somebody doggy-style

Exactly!  Yet some here are still clueless.  As I said before, one does not take a pic like that in order to promote fitness.

Here's another example.  When this pic was posted, I suggested it was a little too pregnant with meaning; another dim bulb jumped in with the infamous line "I donít see anything gay about it."  If one can't see what's gay about this picture it just goes to show that some jobs are just too big for some people.

I'm pretty sure this pic was first published in FLEX magazine.  What were they thinking?  Roll Eyes

If I was Kevin or Porter I would not have posed for this picture.  I guess when you're under contract you have to do as you are told.  Grin

The truth is there, some choose to see it and accept it, others do not. It's almost as if they don't want to admit that their little pageant is gay, in every way. Cause if they do, it makes them gay (which isn't necessarily the case).

Some choose to participate in it (competitive bbing), for the challenge it brings. Bbing IS NOT EASY. But please, there are so many reasons (which Bay, myself and others have brought up) why this whole pageant is gay. You want to turn your head away, and cover your ears while doing the "I'm not listening" routine, go for it.

Just because you choose not to accept it, does not make it ANY less gay. I give people the benefit of doubt, as I myself didn't fully see the big picture at first, and certainly not for a while. Call me naive....that was me. I can understand why some folks here get butt hurt, when the truth is brought up. Hell, years ago, I would have probably defended comp. bbing from the Bay's and Gordiano's of the world.

Let me tell you something I've learned in this life.......REALITY IS A BITCH!

yes, that office pic is defiantly reeking of gayness and it's also quite creepy Embarrassed and yes, Dorian's pic is reeking of gayness as well, but at least it is somewhat "artistic".... and i'm using the term "artistic" rather loosely Grin

and on the "gayness" of bb on shall we say "muscle sculpting", well, that's certainly a big part of it, but there's also this "insecurity issue" and it's not just limited to teenagers... just today, in fact i saw this fella with a round muscular ass and i was quite jealous Grin no, i didn't want to fuck his ass, i just realized it was better than mime and it pissed me off coz that's the first bodypart the ladies check out when they size up some fella for mating purposes Cool but, thank god, i had a prettier face than him and better arms Wink

Interesting Topic.  I guess the question where is that fine line between being a fan of bodybuilding and being attracted to men?  I applaud any hetero guy that can look at a guy and say "he's hot" or "he looks good" because they are not worried about being labeled anything and are confident in their own sexuality.  If other men couldn't tell if a another man is attractive, there would be no trends among men.

I think from a marketing perspective, they are trying to appeal many different niches.  The obvious ones are the bodybuilders and the gay muscle worshipers, but most of all they appeal to men's insecurities.  The huge ass guy holding the tires.  Hes buff, confident, sexy and strong.  People love him, idol him, and some men get into their head that that is what they need to look like to be a true man in this world. Believe it or not, the same insecurities that are flooded on women through all these images also affect men.

In most Bodybuilding/Muscle magazines, they really don't have any substance and are loaded with ads.  All the ads contain huge guys, looking tough, veins bulging out or the muscle guy with the hot woman on his side.  They are promoting a product that they probably only used for a short time and if they told you how they really got that big, your opinion of them would change.  But skinny boys like I was in my teens ran to the local GNC, buying this product, hoping that it was a miracle juice that would make me look like the huge bodybuilder. I spent hundreds of dollars on supplements.  If I would have spent the money getting big like all these guys truly did, I would have become much more bigger than I am.

Is it gay? More than likley has it gay fans.  Is it marketing? yes. Think about it, would these images be out there if they had no market value? It can't be only gay men buying into it. I do believe it is possible to be muscle obsessed without being gay because in your head, those bodybuilders are your ideal image and are what you believe will get you laid. Its like superheros and they look like superheros.

Muscle men in daisy dukes!  Another common (and hopelessly gay) image in this sport.

Nothing says ďIím a fvck hole for your pleasureĒ like daisy dukes.  Do you really think heterosexual women want to see men wearing this crap?  No.  These images are produced for gay-closeted, bi, and bicurious men. I say that because a real gay guy would not waste time with this kind of titillation; he would just cut to the chase and go straight to muscle porn (of which there is plenty to be had).

Daisy dukes should be banned in any sport.  The only people I see wearing them anymore are old gay men who had their prime time in the 70's.

If only.  They all come from the world of bodybuilding... in other words, these images are being made and promoted for male consumption.   Roll Eyes

btw, if there is a heterosexual guy that buys videos from usamuscle.com I'd like to know who he is.

Bodybuilding started in Ancient Greece, where mature men over 50 would go to the gymnasiums and masturbate while watching 17 year-old youths, called ephebes at that time, wrestling naked. That's where the fetichisation of the male physique started. Wealthy, powerful Greek aristocrats would even give vases and other expensive gifts to the most good-looking boys, and make them their "bitch". There are vases from Greek art that show good-looking youth half-naked flexing their muscles to the lusting eyes of an older man. Bobybuilding is gay. Gay. Gay. Gay.

Mature men in the audience??  ďAdmiringĒ the scantily clad muscle men on stage??  While they pose and flex for your benefit??  Hmm, that sounds awfully familiar!

I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same.  Cheesy

The gayness in BB is pretty amusing.
Those pics are heftily obvious, but it also depends on whom is looking at them.
Only thing that shocked me alittle bit, was Cutler showing his disgusting arse in his newest vid - though I doubt he was doing it to arouse other men.
On the other hand... Levrone with that Earl-stare....  watch out Cheesy

Hit a nerve did I?  The reality is, the audience is essentially the same in both pix.  Undecided
