Thanks guys, but I'm not interested in modding this great board. And IMO, even though gimmicks are gay and I don't have any, they are fun to have around (as long as it's not too gay) given this is an alpha board and all. I think Avesher should do it or maybe Quaker. BF and Bigmc are also good choices. Not sure if we really need a third mod aside from SS and Danny, but if we do, then it has to be someone who posts here regularly and has done so for a while now.

A third mod would be nice actually. SS and I are pretty busy lately and if someone puts up some kiddie shit or whatever, a third set of eyes would be nice, the last thing we need is Ron having to patrol this board and catching a glimpse of some of the shit we discuss on here. The only problem is every time someone says they want to do it, they wind up quitting the site. More power to people who don't have time to post, but the next mod should be a long time Y boarder who is planning on sticking around. There are a lot of good choices, obviously only Y boarders will be considered for the job. We all know who we are.

The main concern should be that you don't want to appoint someone mod who will abuse their power. You don't want someone who will delete posts, threads, etc... simply because they disagree with someone. You also don't want someone to jump to conclusions, such as "this member is a gimmick" simply because they're new.

Chaos, would you have deleted me a few days ago for being a gimmick? Would you have put an end to those threads we argued in? If the answer is no, that is fine. My impression certainly was yes at the time, but I may have been wrong; you may be objective enough to have not done that, and may have just been giving me a hard time for amusement.

I realize you're a good guy now, light-hearted, etc..., I just want to make sure you're not the type of guy that would jump to conclusions and can remain objective even if you disagree with someone...

The Y is a fun forum and we bust a lot of balls here.

If Chaos or SSSG isn't available or another Y regular with previous experience like Rude or BF can't do it, I'd be willing to remove bad posts. By bad I mean kiddie porn or something like that. We're not talking about me feeling obligated to read a bunch of posts or answer a bunch of stupid complaints about hurt feelings and shit.

I just scanned this autobiography and no I wouldn't delete someones post just for disagreeing with me, I'd take a vote on the gimmicks, if most people say someone is a gimmick, that person gets deleted, unless they can prove they aren't a gimmick.

95% of people can be wrong and you may be deleting a member who is genuinely an all new member. That is not in the interest of Getbig, to delete new members it has earned. You can't just go off of what everyone thinks, you have to question the basis of the assumption, then not assume guilty until it is proven, 100%, and absolute.

You shouldn't let the fact that you would prefer people post pics to skew your judgement.

I hear there are many long-time members that regularly contribute productively that have never posted a pic.

But how would you determine if a member was a gimmick?

The members always think new members are gimmicks, therefore you wouldn't ever be getting new members...
You may be banning someone simply for being new, without realizing it, and that would be a mistake.
