  • Who is John Galt?

Bastard! Hell, who am I kidding. I have a copy of The Fountainhead, which although a bit preachy, I enjoyed. Liked the movie even more. Also have a copy of Atlas Shrugged, but I got to that 300-page monologue/oration and just bogged down, never to pick it up again. I collect books, and I have noticed that 1st eds of Rand's book go for a fortune! Obviously, some deep-pocketed collectors out there. I wonder if they have an Objectivist approach to E-Bay bidding!?  ;D

Yeah, John Galt's speech is a bit of drag and is so cause AR stated the whole of her philosophy (Metaphysics, Epistemology, Ethics, Politics and Aesthetics) in that one lengthy chapter. But that's an excusable flaw when taking into consideration the novel's worth as a whole. The reason I like Ayn Rand so much apart from her incredible writing itself is the fact that she was very consistent, inviolable and unrelenting when it came to what she thought was right and wrong. Not to mention she expanded on Aristotelian Metaphysics, which is the most rational one there is.

Plus her lead characters are easily some of the most unique and fascinating ones there are, on top of being absolute and dare I say, inspiring. There is a big difference between her characters and those of other authors. For example, Margaret Mitchell made an amazing creation in the form of Scarlett O'Hara who is far more popular than both of Ayn Rand's most celebrated heroines Dagny Taggart and Dominique Francon, but you can still see that the latter are mental giants and in a whole different league altogether compared to Scarlett, who is nothing more than a Southern Belle that overcomes great odds and obstacles based solely on her common sense and obstinacy.

Great post, that convict didn't even deserve to use the oxygen around Nasser.  Nasser would have made a great politician or world leader, I can say that for sure.  Very, very smart, very charismatic, and very funny.

Yup, Nasser is living life, unlike the body bag bodies on getbig that constantly obsess over 3x uncrowned Mr Olympia's daily activities.

Uncrowned = A nice way of saying close, but no cigar.

Nasser is MENSA level intellect. He is one of the most intelligent men on the planet.

MENSA level = being in the top 2% of the world on a standardized IQ test. That = hardly a sufficient criteria for being one of the most "intelligent men on the planet".

Yeah, he did do them separately, being a huge nerd like me ;D and he did it at a time when the standards were very different (read higher). A Master of Arts degree from back then would be the equivalent of a PhD today, based on what I've come to understand. It took him sometime and he finished them and his PhD in his late 30s / early 40s, while working at the same time. He was offered a couple of very prestigious positions (he was offered to be economic adviser to a couple of south east Asian countries at two different times, which he declined for various reasons) and he was friends with some amazing people.

One of them did 6 years of medicine, got the medical degree, then did a 4 year Engineering course, got the engineering degree and then went on to do an undergraduate law degree followed by a post graduate degree in the same - I kid you not :) I met that guy only a couple of times and was pretty young back then (around 9) but even then I could see what an incredible mind he had, although he was also eccentric like Hell, lol! Ah, some of the stories I could tell you 8)

Very good dear Kiwol. With this post + your book collection, Debussey understands your facination with GOD/Gary. Great minds attracts great minds :)

Funny, he didn't win after Yates retired either.  I guess Coleman robbed him as well.  Damn bodybuilders with backs!     >:(

Personally, I thought he looked amazing in that year. I often look at those picture and the video and think it is just stunning Nasser all the way.

But no way would they let the Olympia go to another non-American after Dorian's corrupt, Olympia thieving reign.

If Nasser was an American white man called Dan Roberts he would have at least 2 Olympias, 3 most probably.

Nasser is the Three Times (at least) Uncrowned Mr. Olympia, personally I think he deserved 4 - 95, 96, 97 and 98.

Nasser El Sonbaty Flex magazine Dec 1995

" I feel fantastic - very happy. To be [ in the ] top three gives me great satisfaction. Not to be arrogant. one place better would have been okay too. Dorian fully deserved to win, especially because of his great back, which I don't have right now. I hope I can follow him in that direction.

Modest Nasser carefully chosing his words in 95 to not upset the powers that be to give him even further unjust placings :)

I laughed at 1996 he failed the test so entertaining he did win he still lost.  ;) you can argur 1997 . 1998 you're on crack if you think he beat Ronnie

There was not even a test done in 96 - he was disqualified simply because he happened to mention to Mike Matarazzo in passing that he did take diuretics and Mike sold him out.  His competitors took them too in 96 but no test was done, and the fact that his placings did not immediately drop in the next contests further shows that his condition in 96 was not due to any unfair advantage over other competitors.  Jay Cutler took 6 different diuretics in the year he was caught yet his placing remained.

Between 95 and 98 perhaps one of those titles could have gone to Yates or Ronnie since they were pretty close, but the fact that he lost both of those years shows biased judging.  96 and 97 were both clearly his victories.  Hence three times (at least) - 95, 96 and one of 95 or 98 for sure.  However, I personally believe he deserved both 95 and 98.

Shawn Ray Flex Dec 1995

" Let's look at me and Kevin round-by-round. In round one, Kev and I are comparable on shape. In round two, I thought I had him on conditioning, but he outmassed me. When it comes to posing, you van flip the coin. but I think I pose better than him. Let's say second or third could have gone either way between ma and Kevin. I could have accepted that. But where does Nasser El Sonbaty come into it? I don't think he should have been in the top three in the symmetry round. I don't think he was top three as regards to muscularity: certainly not in terms of conditioning, especially from the rear. And I definitely don't think he had a stellar posing routine.

And what about the multitudes of quotes from bodybuilders and fans that Dorian stole the Olympia from Nasser? There are many, many more of those.
You seem to cling to other people's thoughts and simply cut and pastes there , biased, interviews a thousand times.
It must be hard for you diety to defend the Yates creature when you are in a 2% minority of alienated, lonely whites who feel compelled to justify the former racist and convicted burglar numerous fraudulent "victories"

Nonsense All of the competitors were tested in 1996 for diuretic prior to the contest. at the competitor's meeting it was agreed that anyone who failed the test would lose their placing AND their prize money. And Jay Cutler has zero to do with the 1996 Mr Olympia

1995 Dorian destroyed everyone Nasser admits the obvious , you can't counter his own words. 1997 you can make a case for him , 1998  ::) no fucking way , the fact that you type this utter nonsense shows how biased and insane you are.

Where are they? 1997 you may have something , 1995/1996/1998 is not debatable

I'm not defending him YOUR own hero is  ;) your own hero says Dorian crushed him in 1995
