As ND says,Bertils weak point was his back,especially his rear lat spread.Granted,on this pic he`s not pulled the left side fully out,but he has on the right side.

that pic of bertil is horrible, what's it supposed to prove?  his back looks narrow as hell, he has no hamstrings at all.  Bertil never won anything major in the IFBB for the simple fact that his conditioning was never up to par, he had some gigantic bodyparts but he also had alot of weak bodyparts, ND wasn't that far off with his assesement plus bertil couldn't pose for jack shit, look at how he's hitting that fron double bi next to zane, he looks like a guy who never ever even tried to learn how to hit the shots right.  haney had the same strong points as bertil as far as chest, back, shoulders and traps, bertil had better calves and arms.  haney was ALWAYS in better condition and was a very, very good poser...he was also the biggest guy onstage 99% of the time in terms of height and weight and his waist was tiny.

This is Bertil at his best,the 1980 WABBA Pro World,and even though his front lat spread looks decent,yet again its his rear lat spread that lets him down.He just didn`t know how to hit the poses and when you stand him side by side with the other greats thats when his weaknesses come through.

If a contest were made up of mandatory poses that were variations of a most muscular,then Bertil would have won everything.

That time (84-89) was clearly dominated by Lee Haney.....

Bertil Fox had his prime at the Mr. Olympia 1983 in Munich......but couldn`t match it later

so from 84-89 my top 3 favorites where Haney, Gaspary, Labrada (for top 5 maybe Beckles in 85, Makkawy also in 85, De Mey in 88, Mike Christian, "hard to decide"....)

But was he even in the Olympia after 83? I think his 5th place finish kind of discouraged him. In fact he got so pissed off that years later, when his girlfriend told him that he wasn't even good enough to beat 160 pound guys like Makkawy, he snapped and shot her to death. Then when the girl's mother saw her daughter lying there, she screamed at Bertil, "Even Dickerson owned you, you stupid gorilla!" And as we all know, that's when he killed her as well and is still, to the best of my knowledge, in jail.

He was in the 1987 Mr. Oympia and looked like a shadow of his former self. VERY emaciated and shrunken.

That picture of Bertil is SICK. Compare that to the concentration camp version of him in 1987. He was FORCED to lose his size for the judges and Joe Weider and he still placed poorly.

don't confuse the offseason and gym pics of Fox with what he brought to the stage ... when he dieted down he got small and see the averages weights for the 83 Olympia ..Haney was already 230 at his best 91 he was 250 

Fox was 230-235 pounds at the 1982 Mr. Olympia, but was FORCED to lose 20-25 pounds because the judges felt he was TOO big. Fox was also 5'8"-5'9" while Haney was 5'11"-6'0". Fox WAS bigger than Haney, but was pressured/forced to come in WAY too light and it destroyed his physique in the process.
