Can you imagine? I was actually watching Beyond The Mat the other night and it showed clips of him half in the bag. At one point he flat out refused to do an interview on a radio talk show unless the owner of the network got him some crack.

Some people are dealt a shitty hand in life. But, Jake created a lot of his own problems.

If you watch his dvd, you'll notice what a really bad and hard life he had. His old man treated him and his family like shit. But Jake bounced back, got bigger then his old man ever was, made large coin and pissed it all away because he simply couldn't let his demons go. In other words, your correct. He did create not only some....but most of his current problems.

Whats really sad is (again on Beyond The Mat) how his daughter just doesn't want anything to do with him. Where did Jake go wrong..... Just goes to show you how the apple never falls far from the tree.

His daughter struck me as a chunky little drama bitch in that doc. A lot of her diatribe seemed a little "put-on."

It's amazing how often people who have come from a shitty background will turn it around for awhile, but then revert back to that. Wasn't Babydoll, Jake's sister? I thought they were both Grizzly Smith's kids....I could be wrong, just going off of memory.

I know Sam Houston was Jake's half-brother, or some such shit. Don't know about Babydoll. Smith was a miserable old troll. I can't believe WCW brought him & Bill Watts in as bookers for a time.

that's right. She married Houston who was Jake's half-brother. Her dad was a small time promoter in Texas too while Grizzly was there. and by all accounts Grizzly is probably a huge part of what is wrong with Jake.

Lol...yup....and Rockin Robin washis half sister too. What a family huh? One role model after another. Was it Kip Frey or Bill Watts that originally brought Jake in back in 1992 for an unbelievable 3.5 million dollars per year only to have one of them that didn't like Jake, rip the contract up and offer him 200,000 per year?

If I were to guess, I'd say Watts. He was a notoriously cheap bastard. He cut back on several amentities when he took the reigns in WCW.

I think your right. Man was Jake pissed...from 3.5 mill to 200 g's. That's right when WCW started giving our big guaranteed contracts. And for everyone's information, it wasn't the big guaranteed contracts that broke WCW as they were making ALL kinds of cash when they were going full blown. It was the mis-management.

That, and asshole moves like paying James Brown $10K for a one-night appearance with Ernie Miller. They didn't even advertise it! Not that it matters. It's not like James Brown will draw you money on a wrestling PPV. Then again, neither would Ernie Miller.

In Flair's book he talked about how Arquette felt really, really uncomfortable with that. He was more or less roped into it to promote that movie. On a plus side, Flair advised Arquette to go out with the boys and buy them a round....Arquette did, which I thought was a good move on his part.
