the reason Obama is still getting decent approval ratings even after spending near 2 trillion in less than 2 months, money that does not really exist. Is that the money is being spent here in America. For decades now Americans have been begging for money to be spent here rather than abroad.
Obama says that he is going to pay for all of this by means of taxing the rich. The sad news folks and here it is. The real fact is he is going to tax everyone till we bleed. The rich in this country do not have enough money to pay for what he is doing. The numbers simply do not add up, even if obama was to tax the wealthy 100% of their incomes there simply is not enough.
He is using the American people, playing on their heart strings and lying right to their faces. The rich are going to get taxed,sure..........they will also put more money into tax shelters to get out of it, they have lawyers they are not stupid. The real burden will come from each and everyone of us (that is employed).
Socialism is a failed ideology that will never work. Democratic or not, it is a bad deal.

ThaT'S 1000% CORRECT.

That's often the case with conservatives. But, some liberals pull this same foolishness on a regular basis, equating opposition to embryonic stem cell research as opposition to ALL stem cell research. The simple fact is that over 70 diseases/ailments have been treated or cured with non-embryonic stem cells. Usually, it's adult stem cells. But, they're using those from umbillical cords and there's even research done with cells from baby teeth (One guy who runs such a company would love to have that discussion to which you referenced earlier, as he is a Creationist  ;D ).

Real scientists know that embryonic stem cells are absolutely necessary for future cures for diseases. 70 diseases treated with non-embryonic stem cells? The number sounds very conflated, but it doesn't even reach the potential number of cures for major diseases possible with embryonic stem cells. Certain attributes must be met for proper study and only embryonic stem-cells have those attributes. This is in simple terms since I know your eyes would glaze over if I tried to discuss the real science behind it.

BTW...Who are you to talk about abortion or embryonic stemcells? You've said that you would bash a 2 year old girls head in if God told you to.

Stem cells is the next frontier of medicine IMO but unless big pharma can make some profit from them, it will not be pushed hard enough soon enough.

Eric, I also agree with what you wrote.  The #s absolutely do not add up.  Obama has set up budget deficits over the next 10 yrs, how completely irresponsible.  I saw a graph were the budget deficit is proposed to improve some by the end of his term but then increase.  How does he justify 10 yrs more of deficit spending.  Appauling.  Obama is drastically changing this country and using more money we don't have.  I see inflation coming.  It may be higher taxes on FAMILIES making 250K+ now but they will bake other taxes in to try to offset some of the excessive spending, they have no choice, the interest on debt will be too high.

Can you blame them? As the saying goes, “If it don’t make $$$$$, it don’t make sense.” Big pharmaceutical companies aren’t going to pump the green into something that, to this day, HASN’T CURED ONE SINGLE DISEASE, which is why the left keeps begging the government to fund it.

Would you fund something with an 0-73 track record?

What better way to help the children than to waste money on stem cell research that (if you count the HIV treatment from that CNN article, which I don’t think is on the ‘Do No Harm’ list) is now 0-74?

Of course, they blame conservatives for "holding back science", conveniently forgetting that other countries whose governments have funded embryonic SCR have come up with SQUAT, to show for it. If it has cured or treated any diseases or ailments, we'd know it by now (because, they'd be screaming to the heavens about it).

Socialism in a nutshell. Place 10 people in a room, give each of them one dollar. Leave the room for two days, come back. Find out that one of the people has 7 dollars.
Government can place its rule onto people, increase the tax burden like a massive blanket over them, overwhelm them. The majority will roll over. Some will always find a way to get what they want by cheating others.
Socialism in theory sounds warm and cozy...........every one gets the same serving of pie. Everyone gets a home, a job, a car, medical care, food, clothing, etc, etc. This sounds great it really does. What it does however is place restrictions on the ambitiously motivated individuals whom wish to create and build empire's. Free markets allow people to become more than lemming leading normal drudging lives. Free markets create jobs for millions. Free markets allow for innovative technologies to come about. When government regulates wages and takes incentives away from individuals right to prosper, it then strangles productive growth and advancement in a society.
Hitler had a way around this however, he tried inslaved smart Jews to do his research. I have several friends who all came from socialist run countries to America. They all say the same thing. That we are in a peaceful revolution. They are saddened to see socialism comming to America, they have seen it, worked under it, lived under it. They know whats comming and they fear for our prosperity.

The link to the “Do No Harm” site is part of that particular interview with Dr. Crossman, the founder of BabyTooth Technologies, which is a stem cell research company.

Of course, this response of yours is a mere excuse to shy away from the facts, namely:

1) Your claim about Gov. Jindal’s not supporting stem cell research was patently FALSE.

2) Adult stem cell research have treated or cured over 70 diseases/ailments

(74, if you count the HIV case from England, mentioned in that CNN interview).

3) Embryonic stem cell research (the only type Jindal doesn’t support) has cured, to date, NOTHING!!

But, just to give you one less excuse.......

http://stemcellresearch.org/facts/treatments.htm

http://stemcellresearch.org/index.html

Where's The Stem Celebration?

Confirming the work first reported last November by researcher Shinya Yamanaka at Kyoto University and James Thompson at the University of Wisconsin, researchers at UCLA also have managed to coax the human skin cells back in time to a point in their development before they had committed to becoming a particular type of tissue. The reprogrammed cells, known as "induced pluripotent stem cells," genetically matched to the donor, can be used to grow tissues for future use in tissue replacement therapies, including a range of things from regeneration of damaged heart tissue to Parkinson's to spinal-cord injury.

The discovery potentially provides a virtually unlimited supply of embryonic stem cells without the moral baggage of or need to use human embryos, cloning or human eggs. It also takes such research out of the political arena back into the realm of science where it belongs. "Our reprogrammed human skin cells were virtually undistinguishable from human embryonic stem cells," said Kethrin Plathm, assistant professor of biological chemistry and lead author of the study. "Our findings are an important step towards manipulating differentiated human cells to generate an unlimited supply of patient specific pluripotent stem cells"

"Reprogramming normal human stem cells into cells with identical properties to those in embryonic stem cells . . . may have important therapeutic ramifications and provide us with another valuable method to develop human stem cell lines," says William Lowry, an assistant professor of molecular, cell and developmental biology, and co-author of the study that appeared Feb. 11 in the online edition of the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of the Sciences..........

You'd think this astonishing accomplishment by three separate research teams would warrant a Newsweek cover or a congratulatory press release from John Edwards, who in 2004 said if John Kerry was elected president people would rise out of their wheelchairs and walk again.

But the passion for embryonic stem cell research is driven by ideology, not science. When Bush put limits on federal funding of ESCR, he was called a "moral ayatollah" by Sen. Thomas Harkin. Never mind that he was right that non-embryonic research was more promising.........
