Finally I see a competitor in this place!
They are not lifting weights, you do that in a gym.
They are simply wasting time, and no body competes without touching a weight and you know this.
training can come in different forms.... its all about means to an end....
doing some strongman type work helps the cns..... core strength etc.....
some guys employ power lifting cycles in their training routines to help them get stronger, to help them get bigger....
as far as training in a gym.... inside.... and they "wasting time".... I disagree because resistance on the muscle is resistance on the muscle.... doesn't matter if its dl's, bench, squats, cleans with a bar,,,, farmers walks( very similar to deads ) ... indoors/outside.... it's all semantics...
resistance on the muscle is just that.... muscles only do 1 thing, contract....
it's like what weighs more.... squating a 200lb bar of iron or a 200 lb bag of sand..... the only real dif would be the center of grav... and the stabilizers involved..... again it's semantics. in the end.... all good / productive ( of course if the move is executed proper )
granted OX, to bodybuild, there is a certain style of training to be employed for the majority of the time but supplemental workouts are & can be effective & productive.
training is training.... and when done with intent.... its all good brother.....
