I have no clue how my parent hooked up knowing them as I do now.

I'm the first born. They divorced when I was four and I grew up in the hood till I was 14. I then moved in with my father to the suburbs.
All my friends and girlfriends were white while I was in the hood. (yes, I know, ironic). My father wanted to "blacken" things up but the damage was done..
I also had weird hobbies for a young black, reading, a constant yearning for learning, tennis, volleyball. This is what my friends did and naturally, I wanted to be accepted so I followed suit.
