Morning, PT!
You seen the thread about gimmicks
DAMY
Oh man, there are 2 things that have been here for-ever, & most unsubstantial they are too.
1) the word Gimmick.
To be used when GB'ers are not happy with the playing field of their construction, & any account that has less than 2000 posts, that defends another account with less than stated post count, is a gimmick, I mean WTF !! how lame.
Try arguing your point with your God given intellect, or get owned out of the thread.
But cheap shots, like who's Gimmick are you = Ad-Hominem - the weak ass debaters only form of retort.
Argumentum ad Hominem (abusive & circumstantial) the fallacy of attacking the character or circumstances of an individual who is advancing a statement or an argument instead of trying to disprove the truth of the statement or the soundness of the argument. Often the argument is characterized simply as a personal attack, instead of logical counter debte.
1. The personal attack is also often termed an "ad personem argument": the statement or argument at issue is dropped from consideration or is ignored, and the locutor's character or circumstances are used to influence opinion.
2. The fallacy draws its appeal from the technique of "getting personal." The assumption is that the audience will be distracted from the original point by the insults of a spanner of primo grade "Donkey Turd'

2) the use of the word 'MELTDOWN' for exactly the same reason as, number 1).
Some of these guys could do with a Windows XP (user software) that can be just plugged straight in - ala the 'Matrix' = instant intelligence.
But instead they resort to weak ass 1 word put downs.
How fucking lame.
If I may make a suggestion ?? = smart drugs !!
'MELTDOWN' PLEASE DEFINE A TRUE MELTDOWN .
Now I go back to lower case.
The biggest 'GB' cliche is the use of the word 'Meltdown' it has gone way beyond a joke here IMO.
It is in almost every thread, every page or two.
When will this lame ass response be behind us, or is the average posting age here 13 years old ??
Please explain.
Agreed. "Meltdown" is a good call if a poster threatens to kick another's ass and / or dares him to show up or posts a 10,000 word protest to something posted and stuff like that, but it does get abused beyond belief here. Some guys use it when they have no witty retort, but don't want to admit it
I used it in my post partly to show that we could do with seeing less of it.
