There was a dude who posted here years ago who was the smartest guy I've seen here by far. He was a physicist by training, a computer engineer by profession and he considered himself an amateur historian who loved to discuss the Classical Era, and he would converse with posters from different countries in their native tongues with no problem. Every time he posted, it was in a different language. He would fill his replies with Latinisms that only a true scholar of the language would know. I forgot who that guy was, but I do recall that he loved Star Trek.

Nah, that's not him. I do recall he got accepted to study physics at Cornell at age 15 and that he got a perfect 1600 on the old SAT. The guy had more brains than a neurosurgery clinic's morgue. Oh, he was also a huge Star Trek fan. He actually dressed up as Spock for conventions and things like that.

Interesting. Can't say I recall anyone here fitting that description, so he must have been here prior to 2003 - maybe in the old forum before Ron switched over to this one. If you remember his handle, PM me a link cause I'd like to read some of his posts to see it for myself.

He didn't post much. If I recall, he made only a few hundred posts. And it wasn't before 2003. I guess it was around 2004, when I first joined. Whatever happened to that guy? Probably kidnapped by the NSA to break Al Quaeda codes, or locked in some basement trying to integrate electromagnetism with gravity.

Thanks, but my masters is in chemistry, which is way lower on the intellectual totem poll than physics(much more rote learning and far less abstractive and deductive thnking) I am more of a Dorian Yates idiot savant.
