Today was a "day off" from the weights, so I did some clean up of things I didn't hit hard enough

- calves
- forearms
- glutes

15 minutes of HIIT.

Days off really piss me off.

GR Light - that shit was no joke.   Reverse bear crawls up stairs w pack on , a lot of carrying heavy shit, running,, etc.  14 miles 6 hours

Do you think if I trained for it I could go right to a Heavy or do you need to work up to it?

Either way you're using your knees. I prefer to mix up squats anyways, front/rear/pause/banded/box/safety bar....weights and reps ranges depend on how I feel. Do you take any supplements for your joints?

We had a lot of new people on the one this weekend - a Light - and 1 couple who did a lot of TM, Spartan race, etc were in meltdown.  Was hilarious - she was screaming at him how hard it was and she would not talk to him any more, sleep in the car etc etc.  This was when we had to down - with packs on - reverse bear crawls up flights of stairs, duck walks while carrying pack overhead, etc.  

Even a Light is way harder than a TM.  Then I got stuck buddy carrying people up a flight of stairs, etc.  That is not fun at all.  

We did rounds of this w packs on.   It absolutely crushed people

Going to start 2 a day - Yoga in the am - my usual shit in the pm.   This weekend was a wake up - need to work on mobility - etc.   Overhead duck walks w weight were a killer and if I want to do Selection - this shit needs to tighten up

What kind of pre-stretching do you do?
and it might sound silly but icing your knees when you get home does really help.

30 Minutes HIIT - utilizing more overhead movements and things learned in GR event.  Overhead weight walk w 50 lbs dumbbells, overhead weighted duck walks, reverse bear crawls, etc.

I also did 15 minutes of HIIT and will do heavy sled drags and farmer's walk when I get home from work.
