Power hitters always go into slumps, and then hit hot streaks. Babe Ruth had many slumps in the 1920's. Long before Hitler experimented with giving his athletes test and other hormones, let alone steriods being available to US athletes.
Hitting a baseball is a skill of failure. The very best in the world still record more than 6 outs per every ten at bats. And every hitter can get hot for a while, so a slump has to happen sometime to balance this out. Hitters have been slumping and getting hot streaks since baseball began.
Nowhere near the same as an IFBB pro looking like shit while off after retirement, or between cycles.
