Eminem is a lyrical genius.  I have all his albums, some underground shit and will pick this new one up.

You don't like it, go fuck yourself.  Iranian Dave isn't it illigal to listen to music in your culture?

Dude's not what he used to be. Already after the Marshall Matters LP it went downhill imo. I was the biggest fan/stalker/groupie of this guy at that time.

This album is going to be met with high anticipation, he put out his usual dopey first single again, but I have a feeling there's going to be some very well put together tracks on this album.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

After his 2004 album, Encore , Eminem went on a self-imposed hiatus, popping up in gossip columns  reporting his imminent demise, his slide into obesity , and his supposed retirement from hip-hop. In October 2008, however, Eminem put the retirement reports to bed: he announced on his Sirius Satellite Radio channel, Shade 45, that he was working on a new album, titled Relapse , and promised it would be out in 2009. Eminem celebrated the announcement by releasing a freestyle, " I'm Having a Relapse ."

Disc 1
1 Dr. West (Skit)
2 3am
3 My Mom
4 Insane
5 Bagpipes From Baghdad
6 Hello
7 Tonya (Skit)
8 Same Song & Dance
9 We Made You
10 Medicine Ball
11 Paul (Skit)
12 Stay Wide Awake
13 Old Time’s Sake f. Dr. Dre
14 Must Be The Ganja
15 Mr. Mathers
16 Deja Vu
17 Beautiful
18 Crack A Bottle f. Dr. Dre & 50 Cent
19 Steve Berman (Skit)
20 Underground/Ken Kaniff

I can't set my mind if I love the album or if I think it sucks ass.

I'll have to listen to it again but IMO Marshall Mathers and The Eminem Show shit all over this

maybe it's just me, but the I and the II completely pwned "Tha Carter III"

I don't know... looks to me like all the songs on The Relapse are about popping pills and different drugs.
I just can't relate.

his songs were deeper before IMO

eminem's first record was about a lifetime of struggle.  There were intricate rhymes that took 10 years to come up with.  the best of 1-2 decades of writing.

The next cd, well, was 6 months of work about how hard it is to be rich.

You just can't compare.  Just like the Rage against the Machine CD.  The first CD was insanely good, as it was 5+ years of perfecting those 10 songs.  After that, they have 6 months to get together to write a new record, and it just smacks of effort.

yeah of course his life isn't the same and there are only so many songs he can do about his stuggles in his past and shits.

Don't get me wrong ! it is good, but not as good as I tought it would be.

my Eminem's favorite songs were:

-Stan
-the way I am
-Marshall Mathers
-cleaning out my closet
-till I colapse
-lose yourself
-drips
-my dad's gone crazy
-superman
-forget about dre
-guilty conscience
-sing for the moment
-say what you say

those are just the ones on top of my heads, but I think he made a shitload of "Great" songs

one of my favorite verse ever  8)

They say music can alter moods and talk to you
Well can it load a gun up for you , and cock it too
Well if it can, then the next time you assault a dude
Just tell the judge it was my fault and i'll get sued
See what these kids do is hear about us totin' pistols
And they want to get one cause they think the shit's cool
Not knowin' we really just protectin' ourselves, we entertainers
Of course the shit's affectin' our sales, you ignoramus
But music is reflection of self, we just explain it, and then we get our
checks in the mail
It's fucked up ain't it
How we can come from practically nothing to being able to have any fuckin'
thing that we wanted
That's why we sing for these kids, who don't have a thing
Except for a dream, and a fuckin' rap magazine
Who post pin-up pictures on their walls all day long
Idolize they favorite rappers and know all they songs
Or for anyone who's ever been through shit in their lives
Till they sit and they cry at night wishin' they'd die
Till they throw on a rap record and they sit, and they vibe
We're nothin' to you but we're the fuckin' shit in they eyes
That's why we seize the moment try to freeze it and own it, squeeze it and
hold it
Cause we consider these minutes golden
And maybe they'll admit it when we're gone
Just let our spirits live on, through our lyrics that you hear in our
songs and we can...

Heard the album

Em's a lyrical genius no doubt. His voice gets annoying sometimes though and is hard to keep up with.
Production is good, but em needs to step away from Dre and challenge himself to new material. Get on some other industry songs and mixtapes. Dre's beats have gotten a little boring to me, my opinion. I think the south has better beats.
Needs more features other than 50 and Dre.
His skits were good almost movie sounding.
Good to see him back in hip hop, but times have changed and the same formula doesn't always work. But he's em, and people will buy, and he wipes his ass with what I make a year.

Exactly.

Ems first album was original, everthing else was just follow ups with a few one offs like Stan. A few good songs on the 8 mile soundtrack as well.

If you heard some of his unreleased early music you will see he was actually a lyrical genious.

Today his music is not that great IMO.

Also RATM first 2 albums are untouchable in every make of the word. You cannot fake the type of music on these albums. RATM was as real as music could ever get.
