Good Stuff

I doubt he'll ever be a viable candidate on the national level (for a bunch of reasons) but I like everything he said on this clip

He wont be ever be a legitimate candidate even if he has some good ideas, its his fault. if he wanted to run again he knows he would have to be less abrasive and more tactful while keeping his message. his desire to not run allows him to be so much more compelling imo.

he's got a TON of credibility with young americans, and those not so young.

Seriously, he's not PC by any means, but if you had to ask Mccain, Obama, and Ventura to tell you the truth.. which man's word would most likely be accurate?

Curious...

if Ventura ran for president one day, how many here would vote for him?
how many would donate/campaign for him?

A Political Solution?

http://www.outlawjournalism.com/?p=125

Quote
The first thing to understand is that the mass media controls virtually every aspect of Western society, and thus determines the outcome of elections. Neither the television, nor the AM radio is ever going to present an alternative candidate as a viable option.

Though Ron Paul had a great deal of support among the educated segments of the population and was even given a surprising amount of face-time by the MSM, he was ridiculed and declared a joke by all of the pundits, and thus the mass man was convinced that even if they sympathized with his positions, it would be a waste of time to support him, and so they moved on to more “realistic” options.

The second major reason why there can never be a political solution to the problems we face is that if a politician who genuinely wished to do right by the people were ever elected to a significant position of power, he would either be turned, or assassinated. We saw with President John F. Kennedy, and more recently with Senator Paul Wellstone that the real rulers of the world have no problem assassinating American politicians who refuse to play ball.

Another somewhat secondary point is that no matter who the people vote for, the establishment will put whoever they want in office. George Bush actually lost two elections. Even though Gore and Kerry were both shill candidates who would not have done anything differently, the powers that be had their minds set on Bush, and simply allowed him to steal two consecutive elections.

uh, What has you frightened over the food safety modernization act (HR 875)?   ???

H.R. 875: Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009
To establish the Food Safety Administration within the Department of Health and Human Services to protect the public health by preventing food-borne illness, ensuring the safety of food, improving research on contaminants leading to food-borne illness, and improving security of food from intentional contamination, and for other purposes.

what's the point, you'll just tell me I'm wrong.  I've posted everything I feel I need to say on the topic.  Now either people will or won't agree.  For me it's a tipping point and I won't vote for the party that passes it.

Forgive me for not knowing why you are frightened by a bill that seeks to prevent disease and contamination in our food supply.  I would like to know your reasons and what specifically is troubling you.  Can you post a summation?

I disagree with Obama on a number of things.

For instance, I disagree with him extending President Bush`s faith based initiative program.  I disagree with him that Insurance Companies should exist alongside a Public Option for Universal Healthcare.  I disagree with him spending more money than Bush in defense.  I disagree with Obama in sending additional troops to Afghanistan.

So I do disagree with Obama on quite a number of things, but the Pros certainly outweigh the Cons and Obama has the ability to adapt and use only Facts to guide him. Not Jesus.  (haha had to throw that in)
