Mike, in tandem to what Freak is saying...

Are you practicing holding your poses for a few seconds and truly flexing them for a count of 5?

I didn't my first time around and by the night show I was soo sore, felt like I just did 1000 sets for every body part.

As for nerves...as they say, pic a geek in the crowd, perhaps me if I can go and picture this person in a clown outfit or something ridiculous...it will keep a smile on your face amd lessen the nerves

As for the banana hammock, this is normal, just don't hike it up your ass and make sure you buy some of that posing trunk glue (Freak help me out here as I can't remember the name), will keep you from fidgeting...

The finish line is in sight

hey cheri you may be right with training too heavy
but i also want to break the german teenage deadlift record
i would have to lift more than 235kg
i don`t know if i`m gonna try it or train lighter and keep me fit and functional ,i don`t want to destroy my body

Hey mate.

Stick to powerlifting!

If you're looking for specific powerlifting training protocols, and protocols which are aimed for natural lifters, just post on the Powerlifting board or PM me and I'll post my interpretation of the Öjeby Protocol.

It's amazing what a little effort and hard work will do for you.  Drugs are not the end all to be all.  Or something like that.

Just good 'ol fashioned hard work.

Regardless of your placing (who really cares at this point being your first show and all) you should be proud of your accomplishment's.  Something to be said about what you've done these last few months.

THATS IT!!  THATS ALL THE ASS KISSING YOUR GETTING OUTTA ME!!!  NOW GET YOUR FAT, LAZY ASS ON THE TREADMILL!!!  GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

those shoulders are FOR REAL, dude.  Mike, you look great, man!  Congrats, bro.  You did it!  You're ahead of schedule so now Larry can tweak things and maintain.  Funny how everyone was tell you you were doing to much cardio back in the day.  It paid off, didn't it.   :)  Glad you stuck with Larry's advice.  Can't tell you how happy I am for you bro.  Don't forget - when this is all done, make sure you put up a before and after for yourself.  Frame it!!!!  Because this is something that NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE can take from you.  You busted your a** to get to this point.  Job well done, bro.

I'm not sure I'm paying attention here, but are you also doing this without any exogenous hormones?

Anyway, U look great Mike!

Hey Mike!  Again man, lookin' great.  Almost doesn't need to be said now after 74 pages!  8)  Anyways, your chest is lookin better too.  You were using some products for the 'gyno'(?).  Doesn't appear to be present at all now?!  Do you attribute that to the low BF% now, or any product you've been using?

Just think how much fun your next bulk is going to be after all this!   :D

forget bulking man. you're too old for that. You know building new muscle takes time. and if you eat eat eat trying to gain the fat gain from eating will be faster than the gain from muscle growth.

question. does being a bodybuilder automatically make one a glutton for the rest of their lives? i mean a bodybuilder can go down to a caloric intake that's normal-high for a human being and it's like he's STARVING to death and then when there's no more cutting down to do it's BAM! back to fat.

Mike, you possess a frame that will look very massive when ripped. You are lucky.
My thoughts...

Train legs first.  Monday. After you've watched tv and relaxed all day sunday.  Make it your priority. I'd guess from looking at you that you have done upper body work about 3 times more than lower body in your life.   Your legs are years behind.  But your arms will keep their size when you diet, so you're in a good place.

I'd take a month off upper body and hit legs twice a week and that's it.  Your upper body joints will heal (and cutting back the ibuprofin will make your body more responsive to your AAS as a bonus!), Your CNS will recover (you've been training 10+ hours a week with no cardio? ouch! rest up for your contest run!), You'll get the upper body back in 3 weeks with muscle memory. Make Jan 15-Feb 15 LEG MONTH, and you'll be re-energized come february for your precontest run.

As far as diet/cardio- if you don't do something big and drastic in the next 3 months, you're just going to look like a leaner yet smaller version of you at the show.  SHOCK your body.  Start eating a ton of fish.  Get hooked on a new veggie.  for cardio, do something like fast bleacher climbing or fast sprints.  At your age and bodyfat, hours on the treadmill are NOT the answer.  I would advise high intensity.  If you've been training 2 hours a day, your body is already USED to low impact aerobic activity from the long weight sessions. SHOCK IT with some intense cardio. Intervals are good too.

What you're doing takes guts. If you fail, the whole internet community will never let you hear the end of it. but if you succeed, you'll gain clients for your business and be known as a guru here.

Sorry if I have been rude or too abrasive, just sharing what is in my head.  I will be following your journey.  Should be interesting!

Rob

i've read in magazine and stuff abut this "round the clock eating" that body builders do to cut up, why?  i was always told its bad for you to eat after 8pm as your metabolism slows down.  Can anyone explain this for me?

Real simple smooth, If you start a fire and throw a huge log on it it gets smothered and takes forever to catch on. Feed it some twigs and pieces of wood a little at a time and soon you have a roaring fire. You gotta stoke the fire and keep it buring- simplified but true for the most part

Food (the right food) is energy.  When you constantly feed your body, it is constantly fueled and the metabolism is always running high.  When your body is used to taking in a meal at say 5:00pm and not again until the next morning, your metabolism slow during the night as it is not being continuously fueled...therefore eating something at 8:00 and going to bed just converts the food to fat or doesn't digest properly.

Just look at the progress Michael has made.  In the begining, he was not a continuous eater (he could barely finish a meal), after eating the right foods every 3-4 hours he has leaned out and totally transformed.
:D Weee
