it's because it's a emotion that is rooted in our most primal instincts, a big muscular man signifies alpha male-ness. Actually the other day a female co-worker and I were discussing this. I told here that I have never acted like that, which is the truth. I would ask those dudes (big dudes, when seen) when I was young about lifts, particularly arm movements, talk to them like normal people, and then be on my way. It takes little to give the compliment to good ol hard work, than be a skinny hater, who is that way because that person makes them look less "manly"...

You know a beta version is more advanced than Alpha.

For example, if a new machine is being developed the early stages are called alpha, when it's almost ready for release it's in Beta...

where the fuck do you get this idea beta is a term for lower than alpha.
