I'm an American that has been living in Kuwait since 1995 and I'm also a recreational bodybuilder. Since I've been there I've followed the local bodybuilding scene very close. I'm in the process of developing a website called Kuwaitbodybuilding.com. I currently have a Facebook page by the same name. I have been to just about every major Gym in Kuwait, including Oxygen. Kuwait really has some great facilities. I can tell you first hand that Kuwait's fitness Industry has gone through the fitness boom that we experienced back in the U.S. years ago. There are gym/fitness centers on every corner. There is a facility being built near my apartment that will cost in upwards of 4 Million Kuwaiti Dinar. 1KD is approximately 3.7 U.S. Dollars. I've attended just about every competition held in Kuwait since 95 and even had the pleasure of hosting several Pro Bodybuilders myself, as part of my job as a Recreation Manager for the US Armed Forces in the region. As a previous poster has already stated, Pro Bodybuilders go to Kuwait because they are treated with dignity and respect and looked at as Superstars in the eyes of many. The get to train in top notch facilities, without a care in the world. There every needs are seen to. Believe me, this is not a hardship visit for them at all. In addition to the carefree living, deterring the procurement and use of AAS in Kuwait is not quite on the level of that in the U. S. That's all I'll say about that.
I'd like to invite you all to stop by my Facebook page and check out Kuwaitbodybuilding. Stay tuned for the website coming soon. Thanks.
