the US only has a history of bulling nations that did not have the ability to stand up for themselves militarily.

in 2006 n. korea had already detonated a nuke underground, and thats only the information they are passing along to a very heavily sensored press for release. assume they have full nuclear capability, and the ability if not to detonate it trans-continentally, at least outside of their own country.

at this point, jong il could tell the obama administration to go and eat a shit sandwich, and all he'd ask for is the mustard.

In 2006, NK fired missiles at hawaii on july 4, right as the space shuttle launched. Three months later, they set off a nuke. They have WMD and they have missile systems.

Bush bribed them to stop. Paid them one MILLION barrels of oil to stop shooting missiles.

Their leader is looking for another handout now. Will Obama pay him? Or will he shoot down the missile and then blockade or move on them? He's set up missile interceptors and moved ships into the region, which is more than Bush ever did. And he hasn't paid them off, as Bush did.

Now, we just gotta sit back, wait for July 4, and see if they fire a missile at hawaii. if they do, I dont think Obama can just do nothing, or the Repubs will cream him in 2010 and 2012. If he puts 60 or 80 missiles into critical targets in response, that'll get interesting...

You are aware that EVERY US president since Kennedy paid off NK right? NK relies on it, they aren't going to do anything to jeopardize it. And I would be shocked if Obama doesn't just pay them off too.
