Layne is a nice guy but strong as hell and he looks like he would be quite the aggressive fighter if he needed to be. You make it sound like you would just easily manhandle someone who is 230 and deadlifts close to 700.

It depends on the lifter, can go both ways. Guy I know always does squats before deads and he feels the squats actually prime his body for the deads. He may do 3-5 working sets of Olympic squats before deads. This workout he may do up to 3 days per week.

I feel I lose deadlift strength if I do squats first, but then again I haven't conditioned my body to do it like that.

Also he wasn't using them correctly.

I used to think it was all skill until Brock Lesnar proved to me size and strength are incredibly important. Yes, of course skill is also incredibly important, but size and strength are not for nothing.

You are somewhat off base with your Lesnar comment. Lesnar was a collegiate wrestling champion. He is one of the absolute best wrestlers in the UFC ever, and wrestling = brutal MMA asset.

Still, you = absolutely correct. Size and strength = very important.

But a guy like SpermPierre or Alves = just so fucking good, and Layne probably can't fight to save his life

Yes, but how much of his skill is Lesnar actually using? He basically just mauls guys. Granted, in his fight against Heath Herring his wrestling skills certainly shined.
