Education in Denmark

About 13% of all children at basic school level attend private schools.[2] All parties in the parliament support private schools.[2] Private schools are eligible for public financing and in principle receive the same amount as municipal schools.[2]
Almost all educational institutes in Denmark are free. This tuition-less system applies to:
Those who have been born in Denmark as 'national Danes'
Those who hold a permanent resident visa
Those who hold a humanitarian visa
Those from the Nordic Council
Those from the European Economic Area or European Union.
To further assist students in Denmark, all Danish citizens (and many others meeting certain criteria) are offered a bursary, called "SU" (Statens Uddannelsesstøtte which translates to The State's Educational Support), which totals about DKK 2,574 monthly if the student lives with his/her parents or former guardians, and about DKK 5,177 monthly if the student lives away from his/her parents or former guardians.

This really does prove that the bills are being rushed through with little to no thought of what is PROVEN to work in the rest of the Industrialized world.  This "uniquely American" approach is total bullshit as it is merely a continuation of the current and broken system.  These bills need to be scrapped and totally re-worked with the entire process being open.

1.  The lobbying going on is done in private and by people whose interests we dont know.

2.  The pharma companies and big health insuerers are essentially paying "protection money" to the govt to not be subject to whatever happens at our expense. 

3.  The costs are only going to go higher and the costs shifted.  Its the ultimate three card monte game.  Where maybe someone pays less in a preimum, they will pay more in taxes.

4.  There is no real "plan" to where people really know what is being proposed. 


The whole thing is disgusting and the pols and lobbysits are carving up the pie and want us all to be happy with a crumb or two that falls off the table.

If this garbage does go through, it will be possibly decades before any real reform will ever happen as these contracts are sure to be in place for years to come, (10 years minimum with the backroom deal made with PhRma).  This doesn`t bode well at all as the rate at which costs are sky-rocketing and bankruptcies are occurring, not to mention death from denial of coverage and service.   Keeping this Corporatist system intact with Big Pharma and Private Insurance Companies at the forefront will also continue to have a stranglehold on our political process as they will have their hands out for MORE AND MORE as the citizens continue to pay higher and higher Insurance costs while still being denied service, potentially putting the Economy at risk for a future catastrophe as a result.

We spend MORE PER CAPITA already than Denmark.

What this means, is that we spend more per person RIGHT NOW than Denmark does as well as a HIGHER PERCENTAGE OF GDP in comparison.

What that means, our system costs a WHOLE LOT more in respect to population.

I want a true capitlist system not proppoed up by thieves in DC.  Under a true free marjket system, costs would come down and people would have many more choices.

The largest companies are buying off the govt to protect them from new competition emerging.
