There's a huge difference between 'what you learn in class' and what you're able to execute once the bell rings.
I wasn't surprised that Gina left herself open for that, but I also wasn't that surprised when she was able to escape. I thought that she would end up being submitted by a sneaky joint lock.
That may have been Cyborg's only mistake, but it was just a positioning issue. Gina doesn't know ground counters well at all, but she's strong.
Gina didn't put on the show I expected which meant that Cyborg couldn't showcase all her skill, but all in all, it was a good fight.
