so to reverse the trend, they have him lose. if anything they should have had Chris win, not gunter if they were going to pull the shit that they did.

chris looked great at that show.

gunter looked great for him, but thats not really that much. look at the guys arms -no tris, back not that great, worst taper in the ab shot in history etc.

there is a good reason why he was barely a top 10 guy at the O...

i thought that this show was AFTER the Mr.O...if i recall correctly.

if that's the case, every post you've made becomes ridiculous. i saw all the pics and the videos and it looked like the right decision to me. Overall Gunter was the champ.

I may be wrong, but I had thought it was a case where Ronnie over dieted down to roughly 247 for the Mr. O, then added weight back very quickly to show up at the GNC a smooth 260ish.

Ronnie was in the low 240's and tried to fill it up at the GNC, but was small and flat (for Ronnie)...

Gunter beat him with an easy scoring margin...legitimately

it was after the O - the 2002 O.

the show they were trying to promote and spark interest for was the 2003 Olympia.

the stunt worked. too bad for everyone else, that ronnie got PISSED OFF and showed up looking like this:

BB.com doesnt make comments on shows....individual writers do.

There is no question that Ronnie is a better BB than Gunter, but on the date of the GNC show...Ronnie was off and Gunter beat him...shot for shot.

I'll say this one last time. RONNIE DIDN'T GET SCREWED! RONNIE SCREWED HIMSELF! He took the show lightly and Gunther beat him straight up. Ronnie didn't kill him in ANYTHING. It was close from the back but Gunther was sharper there as well and Gunther won from the front and side. Man you are so blind when it comes to Ronnie. No one is saying Gunther is better than Ronnie but that day he was. I know I know it's always politics when Ronnies loses and when he wins it's not it's just his dominance

How could it not? Didn't CNN, BBC and everyone from Oprah to Larry King talk about it for 3 months non-stop, not to mention the book deals and the movie they made about it featuring A list Hollywood actors?

Guess when there are tens of billions of dollars at stake, it makes sense to create drama in one bodybuilding show like the SOS so the whole world will watch the Olympia the following year.

the drama certainly unfolded in the pages of flex, M and F. etc.

it was guntermania in the weider mags for the rest of the year. articles about ronnie, gunter and jay etc.. too bad guntermania died at the 2003 Mr. Olympia.

This "won" the olympia so hey let's be adults and stop pretending these contests are always meritocracies when they're not.
