He was actually a really good DJ-- He did house music also. Talented dude and sad ending. Why a millionare celeb would smoke crack is beyond my comprehension.

What's amazing is that he matters at all just from spinning and being well-connected. Most known DJs like this aren't necessarily great but get the breaks, and the mainstream audiences they play for can't tell the difference.; they're more about being a recognized brand-name than anything else.

Bottom line he didn't get how lucky he was so it's hard to have much sympathy for someone who was more fortunate than most. There are plenty of good DJs who don't get any recognition or fortune.
