did he test the waters to see what he could get away with?  sure.
did he back down and deliver a rated-G, vanilaa speech as a result?  yes.

Would the right have been wiser to let Obama actually deliver a lib-propaganda speech, when skewer him for 6 months on FOX news with the video of it?

Admit it.  FOX misplayed this one.

If they had let Obama deliver a cap/trade garbage speech to a few kids, they could have roasted him for 6 months with the propaganda video - with obama himself. 

Instead, they whined all week with no payoff.  They could have played it way better.

helping the president may not be the same thing as helping the country - he is one man with his own view of what people's way of life should be.

I think there are a lot of people who never liked Obama to begin with who have bought into death panels, socialist indoctrination, etc... who are mistrustful.

I think there are also people on the middle/left who are unhappy that Obama is not following through on his campaign promises so maybe they mistrustful too but in a completely different way than the first group.

There was a "progressive" on CNN who blasted Obama over the van jones thing.   This guy, i think his name was sinastra or something like what was totally pissed off saying obama is a sell out and only cares about wall street crooks.

Again...no idea what ur talking about as usual. Fox got Van Jones fired...and the rest of the Czars may be next. Fox only illustrated a story that was getting some attention and blew it up. They are going after all his stuff...these aren't meaningless issues, Van Jones had a budget and controled programs..hence the problem with Czars regardless of party. There is a saying in the military " Ur knowledge on that is only power point deep"...in other words u can regurgitate a slide but thats about it. 240 u've become like that on almost every issue regarding Obama.
