whats up with everyone thinking that just because soebody competed pre-2000 and posed to something other than r&b or rap...that they are automatically a good poser.

gaspari is tucking away and hiding(like how arnold said most small guys do), he isnt aligned with his music, he isnt hitting the poses as best as he could.

That doesn't pertain to Gaspari.   All the contest write ups at the time he completed were complimentary of his posing.  It was always listed as a strength.

Very opinionated  but many will beg to differ.   He just posed emotionally.

Gaspari is a good poser , he chose music that compliments his physique , he transitions well between shots , he shows his physique off to it's best advantage , he flexes all of the muscles and holds them unlike some guys who don't hold a pose long enough , he's smiling , he's a good poser not in the same league as Labrada but awesome

its very hard to discuss posing through written laqnguage. if i could show you with my own body what im talking about...what he is doing wrong and how to better it, then youd understand what im saying. he is a good poser compared to bad posers, but he isnt good in terms of what is best.

Timeless 80s classics.  Gaspari was very contemporary.

Different people like different types of posing routines. I personally like Dorian's 95 routine the most - he moves like a man should, doesn't shake his ass to bedroom music like some of the morons do and doesn't let the music lead his routine (which is great if it's done well, like when Darrem Charles does it sometimes) but rather, has the music complementing his hitting poses

Darrem Charles is great too

2004 Olympia

Ronnie was terrible at posing :-\

I always thought that was true of Haney's last Olympia, at the point when the music changed.

That was a great posing routing.  I always get a kick out of people critiquing the pro's on their posing and they can show how the correct pose needs to be done.
With exceptions like Dillet, most pro's are pretty good at posing.

Hmm. Is this critical approach similar to the one where you outright dismissed Elvis and his musical contributions!?  ;)

Here you go.  The transition happens around the 4:00 mark.  The first pose he hits after that is BAD ASS.

Anyone else think Rich looked better in 85, compared to 88? Almost as if was burned out already at 25 years old! Looked tighter, muscle bellies looked better, better separation etc.

Absolutely agree. Dorian should be considered one of the best posers. He is in control of his body, each pose is done with precision and he hits each pose in the best possible manner for his physique.

Definately he posed in order with the physique he had powerful and massive one of the greatest in all areas.

Almost all the pros from the '80's posed better than the pros do today. They worked harder on their posing routines, choreographing the poses to the music they were using. It looks like most of the pros today just "wing it" and pose for the audience instead of the judges. Haney, Labrada, Gaspari, De Mey, Christian, Quinn, they were all really good posers.
