No, he didn't. His chest was flat, biceps lacked peak and looked awful in front and back double bicep poses, which they essentially did his entire career, and in '97 were even worse. His muscle bellies weren't as full back then and his shape basically sucked.

He was fuller and had better shape in '97 and was bigger overall.

Haney had a phenomenal physique, even by todays standards, I still don't see lat and upper chest development like his, even today. I don't think that any of the Mr Olympias are overrated.

Dickerson was rewarded for being the best bodybuilder in the early eighties at a time when creative aesthetics were being rewarded. How then can he be underrated if he is being rewarded for what he was best at?

As for Samir it makes no difference if he failed to produce after 1983 cause the night that he won, he DID produce.

The idea that Zane was a swimmer is ridiculous. Number one, swimmers cannot be beat Mentzer and secondly, Zane was being rewarded for conditioning and classical balance. His physique was big enough to highlight those points so again, how can he be overrated for being successful at what he was good at?

Ronnie Coleman (at least his first two Olympias) fits the bill.

Ronnies waist was smaller than most, for his size, but nobody ever looked at him sayin "damn he's gotta small waist" or "he's got great shape". Ronnie was just a freak.

I beg to differ. Check the MuscleMag article on Coleman back in '96, when (as he would later do at the Olympia) he upset Flex Wheeler for the Canada Pro Cup.

If you want to back up that far then sure. But the Ronnie that was winning Mr. O's wasn't exactly tiny waisted with suberb shape.

Zane for not looking like gave he a fuck in the gym. And don't give me that is wanted classic lines bullshit, he chest was shallow, his back lacked depth, what hamstrings????, quads and calves were small .... he was half a bodybuilder.

First time I disagree with you - I think Doz looks better in the abs n thigh too ;D
