Well done Mars, it's already 10x better than the original.  Could use some work with better fonts and your banners are a bit bland, but hey it's a lot better than that shot in a Motel 6 lobby original.

Just zoom it and use up the whole page.. plus use a bolder text, that's too thin.  but yeah, it's already 10x better.

Yes the color was adjusted to better contrast with the backgrounds (and the background on the second image was created), but that isn't what people mean by saying photoshopped was it?. Anatomically that is the image of Jay exactly as it was shot.

But I guess since you know so much more about how this cover was put together than I do, there is no point in arguing.

It took exactly one post for someone here to start berating me...good times.

Whoever you are, have a word with your webmaster - a lot of the posted links never connect to the right page and the videos load terribly slow. Maybe it's just that way for people overseas (I live in NZ). I never have a problem with any other site.

exactly, scribbler is obvious an outsider.
they make them looks much more freaky than they really are, doesnt mean always they make the muscles bulkier but fact is they do on most covers.

LOL...yep, he's a real "outsider"

Hey...move that office you're occupying "Scribbler"...or whatever your REAL name is!

I took a few shots of Jay from the Olympia, in which he looked just as good as that cover.  Now, for you experts... you dont need to use Photoshop all the time (although Photoshop is the generic term people use for any coloring, depth adding, features, etc).

You can take a shot that I took, deepen the color, and texture and people will think they photoshopped the muscles.  Come on now.   Not all pictures are like that.

Cover looks really good.

Jay deserves it. Jay came back from when almost everyone thought he wouldnt.

LMAO! At the conspiracies here. I saw the image of Jay on the computer screen immediately after it was shot in Gold's Gym. It looked exactly like that minus the cover of Phil/Dex and that was straight out of the camera.

Do adjustments get made to photos? Of course there will always be some adjustment but not to the point where it is an entirely different image. It all depends on how you define - "That's photoshopped".

Some one posted a perfect example of what shitty photography - no photo shop and poor layout skills looks like with the Hardfitness "cover".

They are using a LuciasArts filter on that cover.  I know that 100% for a fact.  They are doing nothing else but completely ripping off Dave Hill's "look" that he uses for his work and clients.

There is nothing fancy about this.  LuciasArts is a simply a plug in for Photoshop.  There is no talent involved here.

exactly. after a few years of serious training you come to the point you ask yourself why in the hell you keep on buying that shit, and then you invest that money in good food or maybe a book about training and nutrition instead. truly. someone can tell me why they buy it?
