Ask a bodybuilder who has experienced a health problem (publicised or not)... he never blames the drugs... you persist and yeah they know but yeah they wanna push the envelope just one more time...

often bodybuilding is like motor racing in that success is often determined as how far you were willing to risk your life

look at the 90s ffs... often referred to as the gold standard of bodybuilding but they also were fucking their organs up kidney failure, heart problems, gut cancers.... etc etc don't hear as much these days but some girls here keep comparing today to then...

I would put my body through the same shit Munzer did if it meant i could win a Million dollars and the Mr.Olympia and retire afterwards.

But we all know they are forced to keep competing because.

1. They don't want real job. (who can blame them)
2. The prize money in upper placings is not big enough currently to live off.
3. Pressure form magazines/sponsors.

those factors are what killed munzer.

Surprise heart attacks happen a lot. I had an uncle get hit by one in the middle of light jogging. Fell dead right infront of my other uncle (infront of his house infact, how about that for timing) who also copped a surprise heart attack of his own later on. Stories of this nature are a dime a dozen. It's never pretty. They always tend to be quite tragic.

There was a post from some tosser on sizematters about how they "should have stopped the show". What a load of tripe. Thousands of hours of preparation and you're going to cancel the show because one guy unfortunately collapsed.
