Predator = Classic that spawned 3 sequels and still holds up today.
Commando = Throw away, shit movie.
no contest
I totally agree. Some people get carried away finding the accidental humour of Commando makes it an actually good film, when in reality it is awful, although not un-entertaining. But Predator holds up as a real movie, which can be watched without irony and still hold up as a real piece of film making.

better quotes in Commando, like:
''Thank you. And do me a favor...Don't disturb my friend. He's dead tired.''
but overall i would go with Predator

"Throw away"... HAHA, ok 'tough guy'... Commando was an iconic Action satire... I bet you're the kinda "guy" who watches Matrix flip a telephone booth and go "pff that can't be real, the cables would hold it down..." C

Die hard. Greatest Christmas film ever, apart from Gremlins.

Ok but what if? "That son of a bitch is dug in deeper than an Alabama tick and it's the 23rd already and I STILL don't know what to get for Dutch. I SO don't have time to bleed."

Like if Carl Weathers had a little christmas tree on his desk when Arnold comes in.

Predators was the best movie of the 80's besides maybe full metal jacket. Action or no action. It held the test of time, to me it's the start of the modern movie era. Arnold was at his best, look great, acted well within his range. On top of that you got the best cast of action dudes on film. A film of badasses all round, It's as muscle driven as you can get without being a shit movie, and it's a sci fi really. So it's in my find best man film, sci fi, and best of the 80's.

What happens if one was to say neither? To Arnold's movie career is all about the first Terminaor and the first Conan. The rest means shit to me.

Predator is top five action movies of the 80s and top ten of all time. It sits in good company with Die Hard, Aliens, Lethal Weapon, First Blood and Empire Strikes Back.
