The back bend was actually the modern technique. At first presses were more strict.

Here is a nice, strict gym press.

Oh yeah, I'm familiar. I tend tend to look look at them from the perspective of:

 Pre WWII Strict press which was more or less a Military Press.

 Post WWII Strict with relaxed position rules on foot, head, and back bend/position.

 Post WWII "Dirty"- Extreme layback.

If you are referring to me you are way off.  I was 300.  Give me 5 weeks and I could do 315 again if I can get in the gym more than 3 days a week.

all kidding aside paul anderson could handle quite a bit but for a normal human bill march did 390 lbs strict.

Anyone who can press 200 in standing military is very STRONG. Especially if he pick up the bar from the floor.

Sorry I immediately figure any huge weight references is towards me.  And that lift for you is really good.  Anytime you do more than you weigh it is good.
