GMAFB - even 5 y/o know what to do during a baseball game when this comes on. I was at a hockey game yesterday and people put down their hot dogs and beer to do the right thing.

My point is that the whole idea of trying to paint Obama - or Bush - or Ronald Reagan - or whoever - as a traitor, possible terrorist, is just asinine.

It's the same shit when Fox tried to discredit John Kerry's Vietnam record. People still to this day probably think he was a coward when he was over there. Lies tend to stick if you tell them enough many times.

Look, I'm not saying Obama shouldn't be critisised. But the whole bullshit about making him come across as a traitor is just bullshit and takes away from the issues.

Since then, he's been saluting, holding hand on heart, and wearing flag pin.

that's why I wanted to see if a video existed of THIS WEEK's claim that he sat there diddling thumbs while everyone else saluter. THAT would be a huge huge deal. But no video yet.

I did a quick search on youtube to see if you were right about this. That people were doing the right thing at sports events, I mean.

Looks like you are wrong. A lot of people standing not holding their hands on their chest.

For the record, when I was in high school in USA, I had my hand on the chest at every basketball game during the national anthem. And I sang every word of it too, damn it!

Nope. not me. Prez is the leader of the country - he has to be the role model. That song plays, and he should be singing, saluting, and praising this great country.

He was rightfully chewed out for it last time. I would be shocked to see him do it again. If he was singing, okay I could understand having hands down, as someone who sings myself, it's about projection, and a president singing the nat'l anthem is a pretty awesome sight to be honest.

however, if he's just chilling, thinking about the Bulls' playoff chances while everyone else is singing or saluting, that's pretty shitty. that's why I wanted to see video so bad.

And for some people, it's not their style to hold hands up. Like hedge said, at any game, you'll see people who love america not saluting. Bush loved the USA, but he was spotted not saluting at times as well. Actions on a nationwide scale speak more volume.

Kazan...look at what they teach in school and then decide if thats what u really think. I'm 35..school wasn't that long ago. I recite the preamble and name every beach on D-day. I knew about Chamberlain at Little Round Top and the Battle of Bunker Hill....and that was in a catholic grammer school. I did my 8th grade project on the Battle of Hue. These kids have no deep love for America..barry is a projection of that.
