i dont know much about MMA but I saw a video of Tito Ortiz training with Freddie Roach to learn boxing
The guy couldnt even throw a fuckin jab, how can you rise to the top of a sport without even knowing striking fundamentals?

Maybe you hadn't noticed that MMA has completely eclipsed boxing.  Hell, fewer people know who the boxing heavyweight champion is than know the UFC champions.  Many of the guys in MMA were National or Olympic champions in wrestling, Abu Dabi winners, BJJ Mundial winners, etc before competing in MMA.  A long way from a bunch of bullied kids and beer drinkers.

How do you explain the PPV sales then?  There is no competition, boxing crushes MMA.
And when Floyd fights Manny come this May the disparity will even be larger

He is irrelevant.  Tired of hearing about post fight excuses after he hypes fights up saying he is 100 percent injury free.  He looked gassed in round three. 

MMA has already eclipsed boxing in PPV revenue.  Ortiz is a wrestler who learned striking, as was Chack and Randy.  So of course, their striking wouldn't be on par with a world class striker.  But get that boxer, kickboxer on the mat, eating a plate load of elbows and the game is over rather quick.  The smart thing that Zuffa has done, is make shure the fighters don't make more than the promotion itself.
