Protein powder still consumable 3 months after expiry date?

I've just found a protein box (multipower protein) I've never opened and the date of expiry is 09/2009... it's a box with 1kg whey protein. Should I eat it or is it already unhealthy?

i called a supplement company when i found a product of theirs stored away for a couple of years in a cabinent at my house

they told me that supplements don't really expire as we may think, they just have to put a date on

Still good for a long time after that.
In fact a lot of the protein I buy is expired, then I get it real cheap.

You can eat protein a good year after the *supposed* expiry date, like someone up above said, it's just so idiots throw it away and buy more protein... it's powder, like powdered milk...doesn't really go bad for a while, I mean I wouldn't consume stuff that expired 3 years ago, but 3 months is nothing.

Thanks, confirms what I was thinking.. this stuff is powder and gets reconstituted, it's not fresh product like dairy..there's no culture or bacteria to go bad.
