If not for yourself im guessing the kids Should be a huge inspiration to get back in shape Fast.

The kids and 3 grandkids are a HUGE inspiration.  My real mom and dad both lived to be at least 90 so I know I can do it.

Hey we have Nostradamus with us....Great.  You could die tomorrow dipshit.  But considering the most you do in a day is post on Getbig, it safe to say you won't die an unexpected death.  Kids like you make me laugh.  You pop-off like you are going to be in shape your whole life and nothing will happen.  It's dummies like you who will be in for a rude awakening.  By the way tubby where are you at these days.  Please show us how awesome you are and how you will look if you ever hit 40 or 50.  Please with your wisdom and knowledge show us how great you are

Don't listen to these dumb fucks Keith. Keep training hard and you will get were you want to be.

Don't worry I love reading what these kids say.  I find it amazing.  Oh well, luckily they have the internet.  How else could they say or do the stuff they do on here.  Very low expectations from these idiots.  I guess they might as well do what they can on here since no way in hell could they do anything like it in real life.  I find them very entertaining and funny as hell.

keith,

I don't wanna bash u, but i'm not sure u were ever in awesome shape, u were very heavy back in the 80's - u looked at least 50lb's overweight back when u were 300lb in your Arm wrestling days. How was your carido back then?

Surprise but I never did cardio when I competed.  No reason to.  I was a super heavy.  No way in hell could I get own to 220.  I was actually one of the lighter Super heavies.  I ate what I wanted and did what I wanted.  I have never ever said I was a bodybuilder or ever wanted to be.  Why?  In 1998 I was doing alot of cardio, 28 miles a day on my bike.  It was 7 miles to the gym and I went twice a day for 3 to 4 days week.  I was in my best cardio shape ever at 298.  My goal was to get down to 275 to 280 for the discus.  I carried fat in my upper ass back then.  My legs were fairly thin compared to my upper body.  I played racquetball alot.  You guys need to understand I weighed what I weighed back then cause that is what I was comfortable with and what I needed to be at to compete.  I stayed at that weigh afterwards just because that is what I weighed.  I didn't need to lose weight to be healthy.  I was a professional athlete who made his living doing his sport.  So I can't see how anyone can argue that.  I am fat now, but for some reason me being fat is the #1 priority for some on here.  I guess if I had the lives of some of these guys on here then I would too do anything I could to make me feel better about myself.  So like I said, if it makes them happy to make fun of me being fat then I am happy I can help.

I also like onlyme, I like gicing him shit though because I know he can handle it.

But, I honestly think keith you are using your past as an excuse a bit for not getting in shape faster then you are doding right now.
Maby you feel like you have done so much already and you know you aint gonna relive those things so you dont put 100% effort into getting back in shape fast again.

This is actually a very good statement.  I know my problem is mental.  My physical is not the problem it was a few years back.  The only thing that keeps me going forward (even at the mega slow pace) is knowing that I did look pretty good and was strong at one time and know that I can do it again.

BOOOOOOM!..........I'm just tired of reading the same lame excuses.

He's needs to stop trying to make himself feel better by putting us "kids" down

Keith you're not even old enough to be my father.....you're only 50 and it's like you're just giving up.........even though i wont live as long as you, i still worry about my future and be able to play with my grand kiddies.

Again, its not where you been..... it's where your at.

Hey, I could have had you when I was 10.  And I have NO excuses.  I am lazy and not there mentally to do it as fast as i want and should.  I am hoping though it comes back to me soon before it is to late.

I know, I could get alot deeper also, but you get my point =)
I may seem like a retard but I can be pretty smart when it comes down to it lol, I turned down a psychologist education lol.

IF I lived close to you I could help ypu with motivation , im great at motivating people, better at that then motivation myself actually haha, im all about "tough" love.
This may sound strange coming from a 20yr old, but its the truth =)

The funny thing is I spent about 10 years speaking at schools and in front of people motivating them.  I used to get mail, phone calls and even people when they saw me later on tell me how much I motivated them.  It was call.  I know for a fact the deal is depression.  It is something I thought would never happen to me cause I was the one everyone looked at for encouragement and motivation.  As much as no one on here believes me, I was at a point where I was in the best shape I have ever been in.  I couldn't wait to get to the gym or start training and walking and riding my bike.  Thats all I did.  Then one morning it all changed.  I was stopped cold-turkey from training or doing anything.  So I know what my problem is and how I got this way.  I am slowly and I mean slowly getting back into it.  Alot of things happened during the time I got hurt.  And it all just added up.  I know I can and will get back in shape.  It is definitely taking longer than I wanted to though

depression...yes, it's got to be at the source of the problem

i bet if onlyme got some hrt, it'd be a good first step toward recovery

and, luckily, exercise is a good treatment for depression - you can see where this is going...

time to do a cycle, keith.  your life may depend on it

-----------------------------------------------------

Believe me I have thought about it

14362   Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / History - Stories - and Memories / Re: onlyme, Max_rep, others: tell your favorite stories  on: March 17, 2005, 12:04:35 AM
Okay got to tell the buffet story.  Myself, David and Peter, Pete G. and a black guy named Clyde Butch Perry (Manny Perry's cousin).  He was a competitive BB'  I think he was in the USA or something like that.  Good size guy and really nice.  Well myself and one of my other friends picked up on some girls.  They liked us and wanted to hang around.  They came to the hotel in their convertible Rabbit.  We had a great idea.  Myself (300lbs.), David (270), Peter (250), Clyde (240) all got in the little Rabbit and drove around the traffice circle in front of the hotel.  You got to imagine this little car with us in it.  The tires were smoking and it was hilarious.  I have it on tape and pics somehwere but I think in LA.  Anyway the owner of the nightclub in town had the only limo in town so he let us use it while we were there.  So, comes dinner.  This hotel has the best seafood buffet in hawaii.  I used to fly to Hilo just for the buffet on Fridays.  So, we all sit down.  There was us, the two girls and a couple of other friends.

Now for my size I really don;t eat a whole lot.  But I do down the fish.  I had maybe a couple pounds.  The regular sides.  Instead of glasses of milk or orange juice all of us grabbed the whole pitcher and drank from them.  Instead of a piece of pie we grabbed the whole pie.  Anyway, about an hour later we are stuffed.  David is finishing what I had on my plate.  I of course had a plastic bag and took quite a bit of the fish to my room for later.  So we are all sitting there stuffed to the gills.  Pete is at the other ended of the table eating everything on the table that was left.  Pete now weighs about 180 or 190.  He eats only one meal a day.  He is a night person.  he used to tell me about how a lion lives.  Sleeps all day eats at night one big meal.  Very efficient he used to tell me.  I kind of live like that but I got it mixed up and thought he said eat all day and night.  Anyway, so he eats an incredible amount of food.  Sometimes he will order 4 or 5 times at a restaurant when we go out.  Even my daughters can't believe how much he eats. Anyway, we just couldn;t believe what we were seeing.  Our table ate more than probably all the other tables put together that were eating when we were there.  So if you ever get a chance to eat with Pete.  Fast before you go cause you are going to gain weight.  And the funny thing is how trim he stays doing this.

I  just heard this story from my uncle pete the other day. i thought id share since this is supposed to be some of my dads best stories. Smiley

Keith went to Hawthorne High School and contributed to the alumni messages even organizing a reunion last year in Vegas. Here is a tribute from the class president of class of 1976.

Message: Sad to hear that another of my classmates has passed away. That's about five or six for the class of 76 in the past year! I thought a good story about Keith might raise some folks from their depressed mood.....It was our freshman year, the fall of 1972, Keith and I were on the freshman football team, one day at lunch in the first weeks of school we were told (probably by some devious sophomores) that as freshman it was our responsibility to try to run through senior square. I sized up the seniors guarding senior square (the class of 73 had some big boys), and decided it was not in the best interest of my health to give it a go. Not Keith though, he sauntered over, sized up the seniors and took off in a full sprint. Unfortunately his effort was to no avail as the seniors nabbed him and Keith experienced the obligatory head first dump into a trash can. Keith had not hesitated though and we respected him for the effort and followed in his footsteps in the weeks to come with many similar results. Keith was a character but those folks make life interesting and the class of '76 was better off for his presence! Let's celebrate his life more so than mourn his passing. Clark Millman president, class of 1976

Keith was a popular guy in high school. This is what Doris Donaldson wrote:

"My word! Look at the number of posts stating what a total LOSS we've suffered with Keith's unexpected and untimely death! I hope we were all this supportive when he was alive because he WAS a special human being, bigger than life itself. He always seemed eager to "give" of himself to his fellow man in any way he could. He was obviously full of love, a love as big as his big ol' body, literally overflowing. And what wonderful experiences ... hard to believe in his short life that a person could have all those wonderful times. But also all of the suffering he endured, both mentally and physically. It wouldn't surprise me a bit that the "natural causes" of his death had something to do with that brown recluse spider bite he experienced in 1998. He went through hell with that!! Read his bio ... it is well worth the read Ctowners! WHAT AN EXCEPTIONAL PERSON! We emailed for a while about 10 or 11 years ago. When I began with the first email, I figured he would just think, "What does that old broad want!?", but not so. We communicated ... genuinely communicated. He told me all about his spider bite and the resulting very bad health he had experienced from time-to-time -- even sent me pictures of the bite, and the discoloring and swelling of his leg. He shared his love for his daughters; and on and on. HE SHARED! He was the REAL THING! HONEST to a fault! GENUINE! I will miss him tremendously! And although I sound like CT's MOTHER, let it be a hard-learned lesson ... to ALWAYS let those you love, KNOW YOU LOVE THEM! Before it's too late. Okay, off the soapbox for now. Love you Keith!!!"

As stated earlier, I've been asked a number of times about  Keith's last day and I think I wrote about this sad occasion earlier, but here are the facts once again to the best of my recollection.

But first ... some background. (Jaime, some of this may be new even to you!)

I'm definitely not a big time gambler but these Las Vegas casinos send us locals 'free stuff' every month in the form of free play at the slots or at the tables and free buffets and lots of other free stuff.

Enough free stuff that makes it somewhat profitable to visit one of more casinos each day to round that free stuff up. (Just yesterday I won about $54 using my free-stuff slot play stuff!)

So on most every occasion, I'd get Keith to come along so he could play Craps and then play his favorite slot machines and then hit the buffet for our free-stuff-meal.

And while were on this "buffet" subject, I will tell you that I never did see Keith pig-out at any meal. His real problem appeared to be a result of that damn spider bite.

But to be perfectly honest..... He did love Key Lime Pie. Not a slice of key Lime Pie ,,,,, but the whole damn Key Lime Pie!

But that Key Lime Pie frenzy was only evident about two times over all the years I knew Keith and I  was usually the one who took him to the grocery store.

One time I caught him in front of the Key Lime Pie freezer and he looked like a puppy waiting to be adopted, but it didn't happen that day.

And since I'n doing my best to be honest here, I gotta say that he also liked those red licorice stick things and occasional cookies. But never in the Pig-Out mode.

So my uneducated diagnosis was that his eating habit was not the main cause of his over-weight-ness.

And since his big weight increase was only apparent shortly after he got bit by that damn spider, I came to the uneducated conclusion that that bite was the main reason for Keith's BIG change.

Plus the damage to his leg was enough to prevent him from exercising as he used to before that spider bite.

So Keith was never again as active as he used to be.

Hence, the weight started adding up by leaps and pounds!

That spider bite was so damn serious that one afternoon he asked me to go with him to a hospital so that he could get his leg amputated.

And he was DAMN SERIOUS!

But I persuaded him otherwise and did manage to located a spider bite specialist over the internet who Keith eventually communicated with. (That part of this story has been forgotten or most likely a part of this story I was not privy to.)

The two facts I want to stress here are:

Keith was not a pig-out-eater. He ate average sized portions of two meals a day, but with rare  occasions of Key Lime Pie, licorice sticks (those red ones), and cookies.

I firmly believe that  that spider bite was the main cause of his massive weight gain. That bite prevented him from being as active as he used to be.

So the above few paragraphs lay the foundation of what will shortly follow ... the final few hours of Keith's life here on this big blue marble.
