I remember reading a quote in one of the mags by him one time right before he retired and it was him telling one of the Flex writers that bodybuilding was basically "self-induced torture" and that's all it was. So the man surely suffered for this level of conditioning and one day I'm sure he just said "fuck this."

He was always shredded and dry back in the day. He just kinda looked like Dillet in the five-head area...

the guy is already a pro. bb so for sure he doesnt need any comliments on a bb board!!.. and he was humble enough and said he would be happy to achieve charles level who had turned pro. in early 90s!!..

He claimed in one article that he never trained abs. But that island bwouy had some great genetics. And his wife was pretty also. There was some beef between her and JP Fux I think on the 96 or 97 Grand Prix Tour. She said Fux had a small wang for a dude so huge.

i believe i read in flex that she (charles wife) was angry when fux came 2nd after nasser at the russian GP 96.. fux 2nd place there was like a surprise to many..

Great physique no doubt and the continuation of the 80's best physiques like Berry, Labrada, Benfatto,....Couldn't really compete with the new standards (Pastel had the same problem). A guy like Dex would probably look huge next to him. Bbing has clearly taken a turn for the worse.

pastel was another (is) favourite of mine..he had insanely large arms for his short statue..crazy arms. my uncle saw him workout and told me he almost started laughing hysterically when he saw him do seated db curls.

great abs (and the rest was good too..including great calves...which isnt often isnt the case for black people)

Pastel was like a short version of Flex, wasn't he like 5'1-5'2. I have a old, early 90's Flex with him in it.
