Oh no....not again....Vince had better be carefull....
« on: May 11, 2010, 07:01:11 AM »
Looks like 1992 is about to repeat itself.....

Author Irv Muchnick, who is no stranger to the wrestling business, reports that his WWE sources say that WWE's Executive Vice President and General Counsel Jared Bartie was suspended from the company for sexual harassment. Apparently an incident took place during WrestleMania 26 weekend in March that led to Bartie's suspension. No word on when his suspension began, ended or how long it was for.

Irv's source says that Bartie had been drinking during the festivities in Phoenix and inappropriately hit on a woman who was an executive in WWE's sales department. The same woman who accused Bartie of sexual harassment was fired from WWE a few weeks later after being seen performing a sex act on another WWE employee on company property during business hours.

WWE representatives did not respond to Irv's email request for a comment on the story.

Well, at least this time around it’s men acting inappropriately towards women - you know, the way God intended it.

According to the web, the senior executive Jarad Bartie was fired immediately. Now the question is will the media have a three ring circus with this.

Oh, shit!
He went from suspended to fired?
There must have been other people who saw it.
If they were simply going by her word, her credibility was shot after the “at work” indicent.

I wonder what kind of reputation she had at the office.
He probably didn’t think the proposition was out of line since she is, after all, that kind of girl.

I'm guessing that Vince is simply not taking any chances. He got lucky in 1992-1994 when he got off on the steroid charges and nothing became of the sex scandal then but the damage was done publicly and through the media. That's when the WWE underbelly took place.

Right, and he's only now recovering from the Benoit tragedy.

Vince has been through a lot.
In many ways, it seems nothing short of miraculous that he's survived all these years.

Remember 20+ years ago the locker room had the propositions of the Garvins & the Pattersons, etc.
Mel Phillips, the ring announcer, had a weird foot fetish.
Tom Cole (I think that’s his name) was the young kid on the ring crew who filed the sex charges that garnered the big media attention, which inconveniently overlapped with the steroid trial.
Around '99/'00 the PTC was trying to pin child deaths on Vince & his company.
Now, we have this fiasco with the two horny "office sluts."

But, none of that compares to the Benoit mess.
I think that alone did more damage than everything else combined.

That Benoit thing still bothers me. How is it McMahon's fault if Benoit turned out to be a murderer??? But yet, the media and others pointed the finger at Vince. That's like me blaming your mother for something that you did. Ludicris. That's when the product really changed. Vince cannot control what wrestlers do outside of the ring. That goes for any job. If I decide to go home tonight, pop 100 pills and die, how is it my employer's fault or responsibility? We all make choices as full grown adults. The media & clueless average people with NO common sense make me sick. Harsh but the truth.

I don't think it's harsh; it's called reality, and most people are out of touch with it.

Live Audio Wreslting is reporting that WWE has denied Irvin Muchnick's claim that the company fired Executive VP Jared Bartie over sexual harassment allegations.
The article claims that Bartie was not terminated by WWE, but rather the two parties have parted ways amicably.
James Langham is acting as general counsel for WWE.

I wonder what became of the employee who was on the receiving end of the female sales executive’s "services."
I wanna see pictures of what these people look like - especially the girl & the “person” with whom she was caught.

Remeber Rita Chatterton, Mont? She was the female ref in the 80's (and the only female ref). She's the one who appeared on Geraldo Rivera and claimed that VKM forced her into his limo and forced her to give him a blow job if she wanted to keep her job. She then claimed that he forced her to have sex with him. It was a huge story at the time.

Yeah...
And, if I remember, that whole thing was settled out of court.
IDK - if someone did something that seious to me, I'd want blood.
I'd want the prick to serve time & totally destroy his image.

Settling out of court usually equates to nothing more than a frivolous lawsuit sought by a gold-digging opportunist wanting a share of (in this case) McMahon‘s pot,
And I’m sure that - at least, subconsciously - is how the public sees & dismisses it.
It would be much more damaging to his ego AND COMPANY to have him spend some time inside of a cell.

Time heels all wounds and $ makes the World go round.

I know.
I talk a big talk - it’s honestly how I feel about it right now.
But, if push came to shove & I was in that kind of predicament, I may sing a different tune after catching the whiff of a six-figure settlement.

Nonetheless, I still think that that at least some of this WWF lawsuit business over the years is a product of extortion.

Thought:
Why didn’t WCW see the same kinds of lawsuits?
I mean, they had some problems, but the frequency, volume, and severity were nowhere near along the lines of Vince & his company.
THAT does make you wonder - especially since Time Warner had a lot more money than Vince.
