I'm not trying to spin anything.  You and I are closer to agreeing about this than you may think.  I don't think it was smart move or executed smartly.

Finding justification is easy.  America found it in the WMD's that did not exist because even after 9/11 breaking "rules and agreements weren't good enough for the american people to lose lives over.   The question is, does Iraq justify the loss of thousands of american lives?  I say no.  Period.  Afghanistan, Yes.  Iraq, no way.   

Like I said they found all the ingredients to make the WMD, they just weren't combined and put ina delivery system, you can take that for what its worth. More than likely as soon as the heat was off Sadam would begin production of WMD again, but we will never know for sure.

If we ( the UN coalition, whatever you want to call it) had done things right in 91, we would not have needed/wanted to go back. We go to war we fight and then let the "bad guy" off the hook in the end, seems counter productive to me.

Posting a video of Cheney doesn't mean shit, he was wrong. It had nothing to do with a quagmire, The UN on down only wanted him out of Kuwait. They also feared that if Saddam was removed it would destabalize the region, Iraq and Iran already had a long bloody war. Iran might want a little pay back with the Iraqi strongman gone.
