« on: November 08, 2010, 11:20:46 AM »
I've been lifting for over 20 yrs, but new to the strongman training. Where is a good source for this?

If you don't have implements to train with, you may want to consider powerlifting.

You can rig up quite a bit of stuff yourself .. go to junkyards / scrap metal places and build your own "toys"

some cement to fill some empty beer kegs and make handles for the farmers walk

The stones are the hardest area to replicate .. no kettle ball can come close to the mass of a stone .. but tires and stuff for a sled pull should be easy to do

try homemade sandbags using army duffel bags. There are great courses on barell lifting. Get familiar with something called "google"  ;D

I think rigging up some of your own equipment would be cool ... I'd prefer it actually

I love the strongman stuff .. many times I can remember watching it on TV and still try and catch every one I can
