800kg total!
« on: March 13, 2010, 12:55:50 PM »
Got it today!  :)

Not a good day's lifting by any means. I managed to win too, but only because the other junior in my class bombed out. He was an absolute monster, but a gent. At age 22 he attempted a 400kg squat, (got 380 passed I think), bombed on 280kg bench and pulled 300kg. Holy shiiiiit. The dude was unreal. He weighed 108kg but looked 120-125kg. Anyways, my day went as follows:

Squat (Boss briefs and iron wraps z - still to work in a suit) 300kg, 310kg fail on depth, 310kg which went up smooth as hell. I really should have had my 700lb squat today if I hadn't fucked up my second attempt.

Bench (single ply super katana) 210kg fail, 210kg pass, 220kg fail (right arm didn't lockout). This was poor for me, though the bench didn't suit me at all. It was narrow and low to the ground and I found it very difficult to work on.

Deadlift (raw) I walked into this with no hopes of making my intended 800kg total. 245kg, 260kg, 280kg. After the 260kg I just thought fuck it, I'll go 280 to equal my pb. This was the smoothest 280 I have pulled since I rogered my back 2 years ago. Really happy with this, as with the last lift of the day I managed to make my 800kg  :) Psyched.

Plan is now to work more in my briefs and look into getting a boss suit. If I can steady up my bench I reckon I can take it to 230kg and with a little work I could pull 300kg. I think 290 was in the tank today.

If you've read this far then thanks and sorry for boring you! Going to sit and have a few brewskies with my big purple squat face and bloodied eyeballs  ;D

Awesome lift - I counted my best efforts today together for the first time since I recenetly changed from Bodbuilding to actual powerlifting - and lol - I came at half of your overall :P
Long way to go - but I am excited again - after 9 years of going to the gym and doing the usual BB workout I got seriously bored so this is a fresh breath of air - loads to read and plan and going to the gym is a lot more fun.

Wonder why not more change - especially people like myself who will try to never take any illegal substance for personal reasons.

Yeah, it's kind of a pain in the ass to make sure you get someone to get the videos, but it's worth it when the meet's over!  Drag her along...she should be there anyway cheering you on!   ;D

Cheers dude. 850 is my next target now. Would be really nice to hit it before the end of the year! I've still to work in a suit, so that will add a few kg to the squat at least :)

I have a same squat suit, Titan is good. Look, your 310 kg squat seemed legit.

Looked effortless! Very impressive!

Do they typically play techno at PL meets over there?

Thanks guys  :) Normally it's only GPC that plays music. I dunno why they decided to play techno during my lifts. I don't like it. lol. I shoulda brought some music for myself like a few of my friends did.

Thanks man. Maybe the camera angle just makes my second squat look lower than it actually was  ??? In hindsight I probably could have squatted 330kg that day, but at least I know I have it in the tank for my next meet!
