BTW a clothes steamer is used to get wrinkles out of clothes, just like an iron.  Just wondering if it is as effective. 

It is. But most irons have a compartment where you can add water and steam iron right there.

What are some good tips on decorating an apartment to make it look more stylish?

IMO stylish = no decoration. I like a small number of massive pieces of furniture. They should be all the decoration you need.
